^ actually i don't quiet understand when u say "the red light on the converter starts blinking rapidly"
the convertor i bought is blue in color and it has a blue LED light, not red. maybe the convertor u buy is different brand? does the packaging looks like the pict on the 1st page? anyway, what i suggest to try is this 1) turn off the ps3 2) power on the ps3 from the front button (don't power on any 6axis/DS3) 3) now plug in the convertor 4) plug in a DS2 into the convertor 5) if the LED light is blinking, try navigating the XMB using the DS2 thats all i can think of at the moment. thats pretty weird....
QUOTE "red LED light on the blue thingy blinks..." ^this is how the convertor i bought operates as well, except it has blue LED and it lights up constant but does not blink, and the name is USB SUPER CONVERTOR"1 and 2 are automatically taken up just from the blue device" ![]() from lelong seller kemen http://www.lelong.com.my/Auc/List/2008-04DSale12986625.htm sorry to hear it doesn't work. actually i just bought this chap ayam convertor from a local shop for RM25 and then i found this lelong seller selling the same thing. i din't realize other brands will not function as well. you just bought it, right? maybe can negotiate with the shop to accept refund/exchange with something else? or maybe can sell it off to ppl looking for PC-PS2 convertor. ok, here's my setup
60GB Asian (HK set) + convertor - working with ori DS2/DS1, also working with other chap ayam controller for most PS3/PSN games (GT5P kenot work) you bring up an interesting point, cos 40GB sets does have some changes done to its USB ports (and other motherboard changes) compared to 60GB. anyone else with a 40GB wanna be a lab rat and test the convertor? |

i'm not 100% certain, so here goes - when registering, use any SGP address (real/fake), and choose option ""get as gift" - ask favor from SGP fren/family to call Sony Service Center SGP - fren/family have to visit Sony Service Center SGP in person and bring along the problematic ps3 - claiming warranty might be instantaneous (on the spot exchange) or take a few days - some local shops also offer the service of sending it back to SGP for warranty claim, but not sure how much they charge |

maybe they check filesize during activation ( F@H and Store downloads ) ?
a XMB partial download is already activated, so maybe they forgot to recheck filesize - will update after testing tonight |

try this proxy redirecting method* for demos which are no longer available at PSN stores
1. download the demo.pkg you want (for example GT5P-JPN-demo.pkg) on your pc 2. start the proxy program 3. go to the replace files tab, on the left entry, C&P the URL below, on the right entry keep it empty for now CODE http://zeus.dl.playstation.net/cdn/HP9000/NPHA80043_00/vSMFHM76mC3nj8lxWFgwBphVBPBFokJii2xweQCaAxf4e6LXciSSjlursGr3bArDm6AxPNY2SBEC4yWxSW4XGX0wIStS0J2N6X9MK.pkg?product=008E&country=sg http://zeus.dl.playstation.net/cdn/HP9000/...008E&country=sg this is the actual URL for the SGP store lair demo.pkg 4. sign in and go to SGP Store, start a download on Lair demo, choose background d/loading. 5. exit store, pause the (Lair Trial Version) download. 6. go to proxy program, on the right entry, redirect to another demo in your pc (for example GT5P-JPN-demo.pkg) 7. resume the download, if you do all the steps correctly, you'll notice the filesize of (Lair Trial Version) download has change to that of your selected demo.pkg. after the download is completed, install manually. *i'm using access to SGP store to redirect to proxy demos, you can use other store demo *i'm using Lair demo because of its large size (~2GB), you can use other demo but make sure the demo being used to redirect have a larger filesize than the demo.pkg on your pc. proxy install still work, just the method need some tweaking. F@H loophole no more after FW2.35
for US DBZ demo. try this http://zeus.dl.playstation.net/cdn/UP0182/...0083&country=us go to the Replace Files tab, on the left entry, C&P the actual URL above on the right entry, redirect to the directory of your downloaded pkg (477MB) sign in to US store and download it. you can always go to the Logs tab to verify the correct URL is being redirected. |
