yes, this new method needs your PS3 to be connected to internet.

once you do all the redirecting correctly, when you sign in to US store, find the DBZ demo and download + install it (you are actually downloading the 477MB from your pc directory rather than sony's server)

rayz85, do u have a credit card? M'sian credit card works on SGP/HK Store. if u can borrow a family credit card, can also use to top up a SGP/HK PSN account. note SGP and HK store has the same content, just some pricing difference due to currency exchange (HK currency is cheaper)

i think credit card is easier than looking for SGP/HK PSN prepaid card. if u worry abt security, you can delete the credit card info from the account after purchase. so every time you need to buy, you'll can reenter the card info.

^i agree ffx still looks awesome - upscaled or not. the face modeling and world design still impresses. who can forget all those close-up of yuna during talking scenes and her ps2 eyes? tongue.gif can try kingdom hearts too.

bro esca_flo and acougan -> its confirmed that there definately be nicer to play ps2 ff12 on LCD HDTV on ps3 because it could render it nicer?
can it show the game in widescreen properly or like someone mentioned with black bars on the side..

if the ps2 game already supports widescreen (e.g ffxii, GoW, RE4, SotC, ect) then yes, the ps3 can play in widescreen on a LCDTV.

"could render it nicer?" - actually the ps3 don't render ps2 games, the games are still being rendered by the ps2 GPU included in the PS3 60/80GB motherboard. PS3 just apply some "smoothing" and "upscaling" algorithm.

i think if compare ffxii played using ps2+SDTV (29")

vs ffxii played using ps3+LCDTV (32"), maybe u get like 5~10% image improvement, that is all.

u can see some off-screen camera picts here

^i think MAL c.card used on US PSN will be usually unsuccessful. can try using entropay.com instead, but they charge a service rate of something like ~4% i think.

^ i dont have the VGA box but i think another forummer uses it

try pm nightmarej4ck

this made in china VGA box don't have instruction manual? i'm guessing you need ps3 component cable (480p and 720p) as input and will get VGA output 1600*1200.

^yes. very PS3 game version has a unique serial/catalog no. and the addons must match the blu-ray serial no to work

for example, folklore asian is BCAS-20013 while folklore US is BCUS-98147.

so when we buy addons from the store, they will also install according to the serial no. all folklore add-ons on Asian (SGP/HK/TWN) PSN Store will install to the BCAS-20013 folder.

if u buy the wrong version add-on and install it, the game cannot recognize it and run cos they are in different game folders

so must do some research 1st before buying add-ons from PSN store

1 question remains, I can use our Msia credit card to buy from US PSN right?

try entropay.com. the service charge is like 4%

I also read that if you bought the wrong addon on a PSN, you can still get the same addon from other PSN if you're using the same account, is that true?
if u bought the wrong add-on, it will just sit there in XMB.

once u buy the correct add-on, you can use any PSN account on your ps3 to play. for example, you buy add-on using HK PSN account but can login to your US PSN account and play it.

rx330, pls check this out...

http://cgi.ebay.com.my/TOSLINK-OPTICAL-TO-...idZp1638Q2em122

is it cheap? i think this is the best converter in the market. Comes with local adaptor too.
*
yes, that item should work. erm, the seller is in Canada, why do you think it will come wil a MAL adaptor? just go and buy a DC adaptor from shop. should be <RM20.

can use a thumbdrive or external HDD for backup/restore

http://manuals.playstation.net/document/en...kuputility.html

actually, WH game is about 1GB only right? u can redownload/reinstall if you don't do the backup/restore

use the backup/restore feature - will preserve all your gamesaves

if your thumbdrive don't have enough empty space for the whole backup, just delete off some unneeded stuff (demos, trailers, music), many things can be re-downloaded.

Help

I heard u can buy from mgo shop using psn card...cause cant use my credit card
so, can any psn card region be used..or must i get the psn singapore, as my ps3 is singapore version..but heard only can get that at singapore
somebody please help
*
you and another forumer have tried MAL credit card using konamiID but MGO shop cannot accept, right? i think its because MGO shop only accepts credit card with verifiable address in SGP/HK/TWN

MGO shop is run by KonamiAsia, different from PSN Store run by Sony SCEH. any credit you have in your PSN store wallet can not be used in MGO shop.

for example, i have more around HKD100 on my HK PSN account wallet, but i kenot transfer those to my konamiID account to buy from MGO shop.

any fake address will do

just make sure the postcode (5 digit) matches the state

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ZIP_code_prefixes

e.g.
Las Vegas, Nevada 89135
