Bro (not sure u still reading this thread), u said u end up paying only 90%. Did custom reduced the import/excise/sales tax from 170% to 90%, but still maintain the value of the car as they valued it themselves?
OR, they still maintain the import/excise/sales tax but reduced the value of the car, which effectively will reduce the tax percentage?
Anyone else knows how custom works?

yup, looking for the same feedback. ... the best is to call custom and ask. But, not sure if they are willing to declare that they can give discount. Maybe I'll try call next week ... if not everyone is on Eid holiday

If you can skip from Singapore to Jp (and not residing-in those countries for more than a year).... you'll be using an Open AP not Personal AP..... In that case, you can get any a car from any country, inclusive from Singapore.... You'll pay the gov. (or cronies) extra just to the the Open AP, where Personal AP is free.

as far as i know, malaysia gov. only allow to import car from japan and uk only using Open AP...and there's also a regulations that the AP holders only can buy their stocks from suppliers from that registered with PEKEMA...my friend told me that if these AP holder want to import cars from uk,the only company that registered with PEKEMA is ALLY AZRAN UK COM. LTD...that means all cars from uk are supplied by them...

What are the rules for a business (car dealership) importing cars in Malaysia?  Is it true that as a business you can't import cars older than 5 years old?

Is it alright to import left hand drive cars from the US/Canada?

Also, is there a newer/simpler calculation for importing 5 year old cars?  Been reading through but it's all so much!
*
For dealer the car age must not more than 5 years

Left Hand Drive can be imported to Malaysia but only from registered supplier with PEKEMA from UK and Japan only,,,,other country are not allowed
