Erm.. I'm still having trouble to estimate the tax. Say i gonna import a honda s2000 frm nz, wat's the tax i need to pay provided the initial price was 79k nzd x 2 = rm158k at 10 years ago? I bought it for 19k nzd over here. Also, as it is made in jp, so it is entitle for the rebate of 25% off the new price?

QUOTE(graham_flag @ Mar 31 2009, 11:01 AM) so you are from nz? which port are you leaving? Lyttleton? Auckland? Lyttleton. I'm living in christchurch. Hmm.. I donno the actual price of a 99' s2k in japan. Anyone here knows the price or any chance to get the pricelist from the custom? It would b great if it was <= rm120k. Also, is the percentage to win appeal high? Wat reasons shd i giv to appeal for tax reduction? This post has been edited by OOOOPP!: Mar 31 2009, 07:50 PM

QUOTE(pulaup2000 @ Apr 17 2009, 10:42 AM) hi there everybody.... let me start by saying that this is one cool thread!!!! full of info and good discussion + advice currently i am staying in japan and planing to return home somewhere in july i want to bring back my car which is a honda s2000.....(the best car i've ever drive ) the car is 10years old this year and i got it for about RM35k 3years ago. i really need to estimate on how much i need to pay the gov. in order to bring my car into the country. any idea anyone.... as i read throughout this thread, it seem like it would difficult to deal with import process alone... so i am looking for a forwarder to help me through the process of importing the car and putting it in the road. any suggestion or recommendation anyone..... thanks everybody Hey there. S2000 is indeed a cool car! Could u find out the initial price of the s2000 back in 1999? So i can estimate the tax. Also, i would suggest u to follow up the produce urself as hiring a forwarder means u got to pay much $$. Appeal in person to the custom office to get discount.

pulaup2000, IMO, softtop is still the best for s2000. Did ur car come with gps? I notice that some of s2k hav and some don. Wish u all the best for the tax appeal. haha. Kindly keep me update of your final tax amount ok? I'm goin to bring back a s2k in the near future too.

QUOTE(leslieng @ Feb 24 2010, 10:46 AM) Seriously, if u re interested, I would like to acquire your service and expertise( and the opportunity also open to all members in this forum), Plz PM me your phone number. I asked MITI already as S2000 is rare car in Malaysia, no docket price is available. My S2000 is modified, lots of time invloved in assembling the turbo parts, tuning by famous US tuner, Mase with power up to 500 bhp, corner weight balancing with Ohlins suspension achieving 50:50 balancing by F1 Red bull technician based in UK, Thats why the hassle to bring it back as I am not likely to own another car like this. I am happy to give u a ride as soon as the car docked in port klang ps:: I am on holiday in Malaysia and will be leaving back to UK on this coming Friday How much have you been spending on your s2k? Tats hell lots of mod. Wondering wat can I do with a 500bhp s2k. I own a s2k too, all stock though. I rmb someone said in the earlier reply that moded car may be charged more for taxes. May b you can try to ask those recond car dealer in msia. I have seen some dealer selling s2k in mudah.my. Kindly update me too if you get to know the docket price. Cheers!!

QUOTE(leslieng @ Feb 25 2010, 06:01 PM) U dont want to know how much I spend Its too late now to ask car dealer here as I am busy preparing and packing to leave Malaysia tomorrow, but I reckon no less than RM$200,000 based on autotrader. My car is listed on S2k forum in UK, My forum name is rambo1. U can see my car there Tats the price after tax + their earning. The one we need is the docket price which i think shd b +- rm140k, not rily sure though. Pls pls update me if you eventually found out the docket price or after you imported the car into msia eh .. Btw, 1 noob question here. Wat sort of battery did s2k use? Was it NS60 or NS40(smaller 1)? Mine comes with a small cute NS40??

QUOTE(Bedok @ Jun 9 2010, 09:35 AM) If you look at the first page of that pdf, it says clearly that it is for "ap terbuka" or Open AP which is different from these students AP. I am currently in the process of importing 2 cars under the Human Resources Ministry/MoF so I will be asking around about the student ap/tax calculation while I am there. Seems that they have fixed the max depreciation period for cars to be 60months in the list. This is SO NOT COOL!!! Hopefully the tax calculation will be different for cars imported using std ap. Waiting for your update. Thanks 1st.
