The tax will based on the purchase price or the current market price? Evo X in Malaysia is selling around 300k but from your calculation, it seem like the car will be more expensive than buy one in Malaysia!
This sound ridiculous, why the gov give an AP to everyone work or study overseas but tax them more than a car dealers have.

You can get an Evo X in most of the city in Australia, if not you still can buy from interstate.
Gtr35 in Australia is currently selling around AUD175,000.

I need all your guys comment, please tell me is it worth to send my EVO X back to Malaysia? Cheers
Based on the custom list... If you can get the dealer list price (from Malaysia) I bet it will be declared well below AUD70kThis sound ridiculous, why the gov give an AP to everyone work or study overseas but tax them more than a car dealers have.

In Japan the lowest end EvoX is AUD51k (before the eco/currency crisis would have been much lower), custom's price list should be below this...
For Aussie cars however you maybe taxed differently, custom officer may add additional cost to the car if they are extra accessories/ICE/Rims, though I escape this scrutiny and my car passed even if I had diamond encrusted rims, (depends on the custom's office mood, I guess).
Custom's office phone and e-mail are available on their web page site. You could negotiate with them to lower their evaluated tax price, I got a 40% discount on my tax.
With the lower AUD it is are cheaper to buy older stocks (with foreign money) before new stocks come.
