iran must really be hurting.
How serious is Iran’s threat to disrupt shipping in the Red Sea? After the Strait of Hormuz, Iran’s IRGC warns it could next target Bab al-Mandeb. https://www.aljazeera.com/video/inside-stor...-in-the-red-sea ![]() |

US launches sixth consecutive night of strikes against Iran
Last nite US strikes hit bridges and several cities across southern and southeastern Iran late Thursday as attacks continued for a sixth consecutive night. Iranian state broadcaster IRIB said one person was killed and eight others injured in a strike on a neighborhood in the southern port city of Bandar Abbas. A separate US attack hit two bridges near Bandar Khamir in Hormozgan Province, killing one person, according to the broadcaster. IRIB also reported four explosions along the southern coast of Qeshm Island, while the semi-official Tasnim News Agency said a blast was heard in Sirik, also in Hormozgan Province. Tasnim said the Bandar Abbas-Shiraz bridge near Bandar Khamir was among those struck, causing power outages in the area. Three explosions were heard west of Bandar Abbas and two others in the southern city of Bushehr, according to Iranian media. Iranian media reports indicate that US strikes have targeted vital infrastructure and transport links in southern Iran. According to Mehr News Agency, a US attack targeted the main bridge along the strategic Bandar Khamir-Bandar Abbas highway. Similarly, Tasnim News Agency confirmed that transit has been completely suspended on the Bandar Abbas-Kahurestan-Lar route following a US strike on the Shur River bridge in Hormozgan Province. Concurrently, Iranian state television reported that three loud explosions were heard in the vicinity of Iranshahr Airport, confirming that at least one projectile directly struck the airport. GCC chief calls Iranian attacks on Bahrain, Kuwait and Jordan ‘war crimes’ DUBAI, United Arab Emirates — The secretary general of the Gulf Cooperation Council condemns recent Iranian attacks on Bahrain, Kuwait and Jordan, saying strikes on civilian infrastructure amounted to “war crimes.” “Iran’s actions constitute a highly dangerous escalation, a grave violation of international law and the United Nations (UN) Charter, as well as war crimes requiring international accountability and prosecution, given the deliberate targeting of infrastructure and civilian facilities,” Jasem Mohamed Albudaiwi says in a statement. QUOTE Worldwide Caution: Due to heightened tensions in the Middle East, the security environment remains complex with the potential for unforeseen escalation. We remind Americans in the region of the continued need for caution and encourage them to monitor the news for breaking developments. The Department of State advises Americans worldwide, and especially in the Middle East, to exercise increased caution. Americans abroad should follow the guidance in security alerts issued by the nearest U.S. embassy or consulate. Flight cancellations and periodic airspace closures may cause travel disruptions. U.S. diplomatic facilities, including outside the Middle East, have been targeted. Groups supportive of Iran may target other U.S. interests overseas or locations associated with the United States and/or Americans throughout the world. Please read carefully our Travel Advisory, country information, and any recent security alerts when planning travel at http://travel.state.gov/destination.
