Why i cant use my iMovie?
Everytime i use iMovie it will not run instead it appear a box said "The Application iMovie quit unexpectedly."
What should i do?

And another help, about Adium, i can't use MSN Messenger at this software,why?

Had similar problem with iMovie too, even after repair the disk permission and reinstall iLife also got problem. Finally I reinstall my OSX 10.5.. Now, it runs smoothly.

for me i cant start my mail app

yes same problem here, I do clean install after that and all the problem disappear.
only msn got problem.

let me guess, u all upgraded right ?
think there is a problem.. unless u have the ilife cd, try to reinstall it...

The problem is sometimes we cannot upgrade from tiger to leopard,
after do the upgrade and install ilife, the problem occur,
we needs to do clean install leopard.
this will eliminate the problem. got it.

This is why I dont upgrade from Tiger to Leopard (or to any major system update)

The problem is , they will be lots of incomparability . Leopard has new security features and it causes a havoc when you upgrade from Tiger. This is why I partitioned my Hard disk into 2 partitions , one for Tiger and one for Leopard. Once Leopard is ready , I'll just delete the Tiger partition and use it as a storage drive

Nope, I did not upgrade from Tiger, I did fresh install from Leopard DVD and I do have Ilife 08 installer too. The iMovie & iDVD did hang. But after I reinstall Leopard for the 2nd time the problem disappears.

i dont really know about this

does it quit when it starts up or in the middle when it is running... you can check and see if any clue is given in the console under Applications -> Utilities... look for a crashlog for iMovie...

basic things to try first is to repair permissions... and if you have the time... boot with the OS X disc and repair the disk too... if you have DiskWarrior use that...

you can also dump the iMovie preferences which is under your <user>-> library -> preferences... it should be like "com.apple.imovie..." can't get you the actual name cos i am not on mac now...

it could also be a font cache problem when applications crashes... try clearing the font cache also if you have the time.. you can try fontnuke.. a freeware...after all this then you can try re-installing...

i encountered once... it was an iMovie project under the movies folder that was causing the problem.. dunno why.. but after deleting it.. it started again...

dunno if this helps...just my 2 cents...


same... try the above before jumping to conclusions...

you mail you can try moving the folder under <user> -> library -> mail to your desktop...

this stores your mail account settings and some files... if it still happens then you can move it back to where it is and try the above...

when upgrading... there is always an option that let's you keep your old files... can't remember precisely the name.... after installation... the existing user folder will be placed under a folder called "Previous User Files"... basically it somehow carries over some preference files from the old systems and maybe sometimes some problems...

it's better to do a clean re-installation by formatting the whole partition, if you have problems before upgrading.. it is just one extra click when installing.. the hard part is the backing up....

now i can use iMovie. They say i should update it. Thank you for helping.

But i know nothing about File Sharing. Is it possible to have Shared of windows base pc? i know there's a thread at http://forum.lowyat.net/topic/553678 , but it doesnt helps me alot. so can any of you tell me step by step about how to make shared device on my imac?

update! click software update. Now 10.5.1, really fast to fix bug. Oh man
