Hmmm well I think a lot of people who have waited for a crash or a significant correction can now put their plan into play. But it seems most of the blue chip counters aren't that attractive yet. Most of the ones that drop in KLCI seem to be the more often speculated ones.

I think a lot of ppl make lots of $ from Sinopec and CNOOC last time. When i shoots up like rocket that time

Yeah not worth buying it now as the premium compared to the share is still high even in a dropping market.

QUOTE(mtsen @ Nov 21 2007, 06:51 PM)
need advice from sifus again ....

I have been watching Maybank-CA, it has been under value for many weeks, it always stay below its worth ( Mother Share Price - Exercise Price > Warrant price ) .... this week, when it shoot up, it shoot up to 1.6 for just one single moment and drop back down, as if one single guy is playing with himself ....

1.  Why undervalue warrant for so long ppl are not interested ?  Isn't it just exercise it and get mother share instantly earn 10% a good deal ?

2.  What is it with the trend that shoot up really high but only for one moment and then drop back down to its average day trade value ?

Whenever you research about warrants, always remember to research the mother share as well. And I mean really research the mother share, not just look at the current price and think you've done enough. Especially for HK CWs.

I believe for Maybank-CA, the CW is in negative premium due to a dividend which is expected to drop the price of the mother share. That is why the CW price is compensating for it. It (the market) is quite efficient in that matter.

Here is a quote from Warren Buffett.

"Only when the tides go out, do you see who has been swimming naked."

Looks like the tides(bulls) are retreating, let's see which companies can actually sustain a drop in market prices. cool2.gif

I need some info from you guys coz I can't find it anywhere. Something is affecting the prices of my YTLPOWR and personally I don't like it. Too much volume for no reason. Other than the TENAGA issue, I just need some confirmation what is affecting price to shoot up. I'm trying to buy more of it, and this price increase is making me hold my cards. If somehow it is just speculators then I'll wait for it to come down, but if something else is about to happened that would re-evaluate the counter and if anyone knows please do post here. sad.gif

tenaga - maybe another adjustment in electricity tariff on the cards?

ytlpower - i'm also suspicious of the price movements: before it was due to share buybacks but this few days very little buybacks to justify the price increase; perhaps they are prime candidates in successfully bidding for the temasek power plants? but no firm news yet
*
They are distributing their treasury shares 1 for 25 but still does not justify the increase because it is actually old news.
