On such a large viewing screens that we are contemplating using projectors, 1080 will defintely be better. How better? To me the main benefit is less pixelisation. The 720's screen door on the Epson TW700 is annoying when visible.... especially when the movie is slow going.

In terms of pricing 1080s will most certainly always be relatively more expensive compared to the 720s. Just like 720s are always more expensive then then 480s.

The important factor is will the absolute price of the 1080s drop to a level where its benefits exceed the asking price...

Added on March 6, 2008, 6:47 pmwith smoothscreen technology from panny, "720p" so far has been adequate for me. if without that, 720p LCD projs from other makes would have quite awful chicken wire/screendoor effect at the distance I'm sitting (1.1-1.3x)

D smoothscreen technology is not everyone's cup of tea. I kept trying to focus and refocus the Panny AX coz it was just a little bit out of focus. ut of course its not due to the focus, but the smooth screen tech. Well not all 720p LCD projectors are the same, some chicken wire are more visible than others.
