Getting Started

|
For work related [can't get a education licence], would like to check whether iWork08 does the same as Microsoft Office for Mac.
I heard from Mac Asia that file or document saved in iWork08 cannot be read or opened in Windows Microsoft Office. Is that the case?
Thks!

iWork documents can't be opened in Office, but Office documents can be opened in iWork. Bear in mind though formats, alignments etc may change in iWork.

Bear in mind though formats, alignments etc may change in iWork. i think there should be some way to save it for it to work on office... don't know about the spreadsheet and documents...but i tried saving keynote for powerpoint... it loses all the effects that keynotes has... even powerpoint on mac and pc is different... if you link video or audio files... the links could get screwed up when you send it to pc users and vice versa... even the video format it supports is different... mac powerpoint supports quicktime while pc does not... and there is no pack and go on the mac powerpoint... QUOTE(xandman @ Nov 17 2007, 06:52 AM) use neo office... it's better compatible with microsoft office... there is a lot of choices on open source office applications... try googling it... neo office is worth a try...
