QUOTE(pigcat @ Nov 18 2007, 09:36 PM) Sorry for my previous retarded post, offer cancelled... Usually it depends on how clear the sky is at the locating time...but usually it takes around 1-2 minutes to lock...Nevermind, just got the phone working...GPS seems to worked most of the time now. However, does it work very fast everytime? Mine seems to be sluggish catching the satellite sometimes, but seems to work quite accurate now... Anyone? |

QUOTE(Ash @ Nov 19 2007, 08:57 PM) Whoever plans to visit the nokia care centre to fix their n95 8gb problem please go to the HQ in berjaya plaza... the other branches will all direct you to the HQ and their reasons will be this model is too new so they wont be able to do anything. So yea remember not to waste your time visit other branches.. only go to the one in berjaya plaza in front of times square either subscribe to unlimited data package or you can try subscribe to maxis value extras where you can pay extra RM10 per month for 5MB of data..and btw maxis just charged me rm96.70 for 3g usage of 9670 kb which is equalavent to 9mb.. thats so crazy Added on November 20, 2007, 8:44 am QUOTE(den @ Nov 20 2007, 02:17 AM) 1. Is CSL set original? (cause I saw CSL being sold, and to be claimed NOT an AP set.) 1. Not sure...no nokla version of it yet...so i guess it's ori...but not from authorized dealer2. Anyone using voice-guided navigation? Do we actually need to pay for voice guided navigation? Does your current GPS work like this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-Y42aF0zxRc with all the popular restaurants, shops available on the map? 2. Yes you have to pay for the voice nav if using nokia maps, and yes it works just like in the youtube. just that malaysian map is not that extensive compared to US/Europe and not son many POI (Point of interest). QUOTE(den @ Nov 20 2007, 10:15 PM) that's very expensive and like not worth it. 1) For me you still need the voice navigation as i don't think it's wise to always looking at your hp while driving. About the usefulness, while driving not really unless you have a friend helping you, and yes a bit if you're walking to your destination.do you think the gps is still useful w/o the voice navigator? does in still have the distance and turning direction on top left if i don't purchase the voice nagivator? and is it possible to add shops/some landmark on the map on your own? 2) Yes, you'll still have the navigation even though your voice guidance feature expired. 3) Yes, you can add landmark. Download MapKing and google up some info regarding it...I'M SURE you'll find something. Added on November 20, 2007, 11:02 pm QUOTE(HolyCross @ Nov 20 2007, 10:41 PM) did you choose "data transfer" when connecting your usb?..don't use pc suite or anything else. You can only transfer the map in "data transfer" mode. This post has been edited by jep: Nov 20 2007, 11:04 PM |

QUOTE(Ash @ Nov 20 2007, 08:19 PM) Yes it has the chinese symbols thingy but i dont understand why would you need that I bought it 1 week ago...but still nothing on the 3 month free voice...did she specifically tell you what to do after the 3 day trial expires Ash?Called nokia hotline today and spoke to an operator about the free 3 months voice navigation thingy they told me that i have to wait for the 3 days trial to expire before I can activate the 3 months one... it was so hard for me to end the call because her voice was soooooooo sweet and she was so polite ewwwww ^^ Added on November 20, 2007, 11:13 pm QUOTE(pigcat @ Nov 20 2007, 11:06 PM) I honestly think the voice navigation is useless for Nokia's Malaysia map as the roads are not detail enough to give a reliable guide. I've tried the simulation which is of course FOC demostration but it's quite confusing, and it's guiding to a no entry road, imagine that. You'll need paid map services... - agreed, the map is not updated and extensive enough. But the voice navi is better than MapKing as far as i've used it.And for anyone wants the 3 months free trial, AP sets don't have it so... - wrong pigcat...missgeek hp is a comsat AP set...and better still...she's the only one here that received the 3 months free voice navigation...i think it's because of her set is from singapore. QUOTE(pigcat @ Nov 22 2007, 01:44 AM) The dealer sold me a very nice simple pouch (dunno what to call, just simple bag) and seems very silky interior, he just sold me RM10 which I think should be more expensive. I love it! If you're transferring using "data transfer" mode...PLEASE eject from windows...if from PC Suite...i have no idea...i normally just unplug it when finished...so far no error or glitches..Of course I'd love to have a proper transparent platic kits to mount on the phone, kinda hate leather holdster or something similar. By the way anyone has tips on how to safely unplug the USB cable? Just now I did some transfering and without any traffic on the cable I unplugged it and my N95 goes blank but I can see the screen still flickering...Take out the battery and start it again, works normal lol. It's really scary...Anyone? |

"When a user requests a Web page, it is fetched by the Opera Mini(tm) server, reformatted with
Opera's Small-Screen Rendering(tm) technology, compressed 70-80 percent and sent to the handset." from Opera Mini brochure.. Although it's slower...but it saves our data usage hence save $$$ |

For GPS locking time...if cold locking ( 1-2 days didn't use)...it can take up to 10-15 minutes or so depending on your location and no obstructions..hot locking is around 10-30 seconds...

I just used the normal RM10 car holder..works ok..but seems like difficult if I want to charge...since that it has bottom support that somewhat blocked the charger pin.
