Here's more about the built quality that i'll like to check with you guys (yeah i know i'm silly but you can treat it as a report anyway)...

1. I've noticed the upper right, side-panel seems loose a bit and can press inwards, just the upper right corner though, all other corners seems firm.

2. When slider in close position, put thumb on the d pad and apply slight pressure and move up and down it'll produce clicky sound.

3. When press on the earpiece it'll also felt clicky.

Overall still isn't impressed with the built quality (or was it due to the dropping earlier today?? A bit worry liao) compared to my E70 which built like a tank, but it was above my expectation...

1. I do mean the side panel which is near the speaker there. I didn't noticed that until I play more with the multimedia key slide and noticed when my finger hold there and have a grip I noticed the loose-ness.

2. There's something underneath the d pad area, it's when move up (within the spring lock which is +- 0.5mm) it'll just go *click*, move down nothing, move up again *click*. Anyway I tested it again just now and it's gone, hmm...

3. Not really hard but definitely can feel that the area is a bit "empty" (maybe it IS not filled up lol). Not really "clicky", didn't use the correct word.

Anyway that's just me being fussy (or so called "very ngiau" for chinese), stuffs are assembled by human hands so there must be some irregularities. I'll ask the NCC people to make it tighter when I'm going to change the keypad...I might be lucky cause same thing happened to my E70, the keypad panel (which can open and become qwerty) is a bit loose and can move left/right slightly, however last time I change my LCD after they assemble and give me back, it become tight and firm already...

You have to download the firmware updater (Nokia Software Updater) and the program will check if yours has updates.

By the way I manage to register my N95 8GB on my.nokia.com lol...I think they have a valid IMEI database cause I didn't enter my phone model, just IMEI and it shows correctly that it's a N95 8GB...Yay AP set also can register...

Why dropped until slider spoil? How bad it is? Which side big which side small?

I think this is human error so most likely warranty cannot do anything...You have to phone the NCC first to get a quote...I also dropped my phone recently luckily mine was inside a pouch so the damage is minimum, I think nothing damaged maybe I just think too much...I saw a youtube video that there's a british did a review and he also dropped his phone within the first 24hours since he got his phone...maybe too careful until don't dare to hold the phone firm...

About the GPS, sometimes condition bad it'll take up to 10mins to get connected, sometimes good then within a minute. But 30mins? That's a bit long...?

I think mine connect and lock only need like 10mins normally, and sometimes luck good then maybe within 5 mins lo. After first connect then later on if want reconnect seems very fast, under 1 min...

Sadly but I think the warranty does not cover accident leh, maybe just need to change the housing or something that might not too expensive to repair...I changed my pouch today to a zipper one rather than the pouch with the tali one...


It'll only format the phone memory, and 3rd party app has to reinstall but if you previously installed in the mass memory you can straight away reinstaller via app manager cause the installer already there.

I think screensaver bug not yet fix...? Still landscape mode and also the refresh rate seems to be very low and the colour like cheap plak blue/white (which already like that in the previous firmware)? Looks like color bit depth/refresh rate bug to me also. I'm ok with landscape mode anyway, it actually useless cause press something then screensaver gone...if dun press don't have light to see...

Guys I'm testing the battery now with everyday normal usage, charged full at 24/11 3AM, use only within 5 mins call, 5 mins wifi, 10mins bluetooth, few SMSes, few mins of music listening through headphone, few shots and few mins of video shooting, until now still full bar!

But hor I can tell the battery meter is very inaccurate, first 2 bars actually is around 40% and the rest is 60% and once left 4 bars the battery seems to used up pretty fast...Anyway I'm impressed with the battery life...1200mAh really no play play one...Better than my E70!

Haha I know SE battery damn good despite they're mostly lower than the Nokia's. My gf's eiten can really last very long but hoh think that's only a normal phone and ours are smartphone with proper OS plus so many functions and features. If you've ever use a Dopod/HTC, their 1300mAh also can die very very fast...

But as I said I only judging from a point from how a long term nokia supporter will think. Even my E70 should last for long time but I definitely feel N95 8GB can tahan even longer even with more or less the same daily usage. But how come yours always die before mid night? That's a bit unusual, no?

Man man lai, don't need to rush first and have a look around for a day or 2, wait for more reports of downside and especially built quality first. I've read about the slider durability at intomobile, the slider will wear off and become loosen in just about 2 weeks of heavy usage...

I haven't mess around much with 3rd party app, but I just tried the GBA emulator for S60 phone, try load Final Fantasy Tactics, memory not enough...Aww I thought 128MB ram is plenty to run GBA games? I was out of luck on my E70 but I really can't imagine this one also cannot...

EDIT: Oh it seems the FF6 Advance can run haha...Now I can play old games on my phone...

I think updating the firmware even worse in some places, like, when go to clock, set time, supposed the background should be following the theme's background or something but it's all light blue and very hard to read the words (same to barcode scanning). Not sure if I had my phone set wrongly but I'm pretty sure it was OK earlier when I got the phone...

It's really strange to see authorized set got such problems...I was really thinking of buying an authorized set due to too fussy of those minor minor things but I think mine is healthy and there's really no reason to change later scare got one problematic one...

As for the authorized set, I seldom hear people Zitron sets nowadays even last time I got my E70 also all Avaxx...

Yeah, Comsat set warranty handset for 15months (even more than the authorized set ) and LCD for 12 months, all stamped on the warranty card black and white. However I DOUBT they'll easily replace it without question asked. Authorized warranty lebih baik la in overall...

Hmm anyone had the slider become loosen after usage of a week or 2? Mine has become loosen a bit and now can do 1 handed operation already...Not sure this is a good sign or not but doesn't seems to affect the "lock into place" mechanism, the lock seems to be firm as it should, just the railway seems loosen up.

Anyway just discovered scratch on my top panel, aww still show sign of wear even with extreme care...Kinda give up giving full care already cause really tired to handle phone with care lol, but anyway still going to keep it in pouch lo...I'll be more happy to use a phone that way cause too fussy not good for mental...

I could be wrong but I think I never heard a Zitron set of N95?

Oh and small tips for you guys who want to have longer battery life...

Well if you don't use 3G at all, disable it, switch to GSM only. I noticed once I switched to GSM only the battery suddenly stopped draining dramatically! Even though you subcribed unlimited 3G, switch it on whenever you need to use rather than let it on all the time, unless you want to send MMS or make video calls.

Go to "tools" --> setting --> phone --> network --> dual mode change to "GSM" (UMTS is 3G). So when you want to use 3G thing just switch back to dual mode. If I'm not wrong if you want 3G but dont' want people call you then can switch to UMTS only...

So anyone noticed the slider loosen after some use? Not dramatically so but it's like "opened up" a bit...

And now I discovered the d pad area seems to be able to move left/rigth (I mean the whole panel) when in close position or MM keys position. However when in open position it's very firm...

You can check if your catalog (the Download! icon) has the Live messenger. Mine doesn't have it in the catalog but I think can be downloaded directly from Nokia website. But do check the catalog and report to us.

I thought that's irrelevant...
