It hurts me to hear other ppl's phone being damaged so soon.

EDIT: Has anyone done the firmware update yet? If yes. Does the phone format the phone memory only? Or does it format the mass memory with it? It'll be a pain to backup 8GB of data. And is the screensaver bug fixed? Thankz in advance.
*
it reset all your phone memory and 10% of your mass memory or maybe 0% of your mass memory

anyone saw n95 8gb ad?
i saw on nseries n95 8gb ad...but on tv it changed the n95 8gb to n81

just now want to take out from my phone bag..well phone bag is kinda slippery..and my whole phone slip out..drop until my whole battery come out
very serious...side of the phone between the upper layer(screen section) and down part(keypad section) the hole is big..and another side small...and make the slider got noise when u move it..

10minutes only??? i need like 30minutes to 50minutes...

monday going to zitron enterprise see can claim warranty or not..if can not then have to use pay for the repair
*
I think mine connect and lock only need like 10mins normally, and sometimes luck good then maybe within 5 mins lo. After first connect then later on if want reconnect seems very fast, under 1 min...

Sadly but I think the warranty does not cover accident leh, maybe just need to change the housing or something that might not too expensive to repair...I changed my pouch today to a zipper one rather than the pouch with the tali one... ohmy.gif

It'll only format the phone memory, and 3rd party app has to reinstall but if you previously installed in the mass memory you can straight away reinstaller via app manager cause the installer already there.

I think screensaver bug not yet fix...? Still landscape mode and also the refresh rate seems to be very low and the colour like cheap plak blue/white (which already like that in the previous firmware)? Looks like color bit depth/refresh rate bug to me also. I'm ok with landscape mode anyway, it actually useless cause press something then screensaver gone...if dun press don't have light to see...

For GPS locking time...if cold locking ( 1-2 days didn't use)...it can take up to 10-15 minutes or so depending on your location and no obstructions..hot locking is around 10-30 seconds...

I guess if it's really that serious then there should be some obvious scratches on the phone. No harm for trying tho.

locking GPS need half hour? better closed the program and restart it. mine lock in 5sec or less for hot lock. for cold lock, need around 1min.

btw, mine is N95-1 with latest firmware, A-GPS disabled

@HolyCross
i know N95-2 has better build but dont try to throw it on floor lol. the reason i prefer leather case to bag is it slipped out of the bag easily.

i saw for many times my friends slipped their phone from the bag straight to floor biggrin.gif

Guys im having a bit of a problem.I just got my N95 8GB (Avaxx set) and this is my 1st symbian phone so i dunnoe whether its just my inexperience. Neway here's the problem:

You know when u connect the USB cable there's an option of PC suite, data transfer and bla bla rite?? I chose data transfer and it says mass memory is being used by messaging (i set the messaging setting to save messages into the mass memory),so then i set the messages to be saved into the phone memory. Then i tried again and it says mass memory cannot be used to transfer files. Anyone can help?? Thanks

edit: I think i noe what it means now,i think it means u cant use the mass memory through the phone while transferring files haha pardon my inexperience tongue.gif

Maybe some 3rd party software installed in ur N95 in running background and cz the phone cant switch to Mass Storage Mode..
Hold the MENU button to check and close it...
Sometimes restart the phone also help..

N95-1 has much faster lock time compared to N95 8GB. I don't know why but I've have both phones so I can the differences between these two.

Guys I'm testing the battery now with everyday normal usage, charged full at 24/11 3AM, use only within 5 mins call, 5 mins wifi, 10mins bluetooth, few SMSes, few mins of music listening through headphone, few shots and few mins of video shooting, until now still full bar!

But hor I can tell the battery meter is very inaccurate, first 2 bars actually is around 40% and the rest is 60% and once left 4 bars the battery seems to used up pretty fast...Anyway I'm impressed with the battery life...1200mAh really no play play one...Better than my E70! thumbup.gif

Haha I know SE battery damn good despite they're mostly lower than the Nokia's. My gf's eiten can really last very long but hoh think that's only a normal phone and ours are smartphone with proper OS plus so many functions and features. If you've ever use a Dopod/HTC, their 1300mAh also can die very very fast...

But as I said I only judging from a point from how a long term nokia supporter will think. Even my E70 should last for long time but I definitely feel N95 8GB can tahan even longer even with more or less the same daily usage. But how come yours always die before mid night? That's a bit unusual, no?

Man man lai, don't need to rush first and have a look around for a day or 2, wait for more reports of downside and especially built quality first. I've read about the slider durability at intomobile, the slider will wear off and become loosen in just about 2 weeks of heavy usage... sad.gif

I haven't mess around much with 3rd party app, but I just tried the GBA emulator for S60 phone, try load Final Fantasy Tactics, memory not enough...Aww I thought 128MB ram is plenty to run GBA games? I was out of luck on my E70 but I really can't imagine this one also cannot... blink.gif

EDIT: Oh it seems the FF6 Advance can run haha...Now I can play old games on my phone... laugh.gif

guys, i have a question here. dunno where to post.

Currently am in the market for a new phone. no specific budget. Contemplating the N 95 8gb and N 81 8gb.

I'm leaning towards the N 81 8gb as it has a nicer and smaller design. Basically i want to get a phone which can handle my music (8gb storage is enough) and also for normal phone use. Not really into surfing net using phone. I'd also want to have gps function as i travel alot in car and i'm always getting lost.

i've read about the n95 slow gps lock and its inaccuracy. Is it better for me to get a n81 8gb and an external gps module (can i even pair them up?) or are those reports untrue based on your experience with the phone?

Guys i've got one questions,
i noticed that the screen saver thingy (there is a bar showing time and date only) is always vertical...i wonder how do u change it back to horizontal mode (normal way of holding the phone)...i've tried to slide the slider up and then wait until the screen appears but still the screen saver thing remains vertical....anyone knows how to change it? Thanks
