Guys, if you've updated to V15 firmware, try transfer a 1GB data to your phone via USB and ready to be impressed... brows.gif

Also, VIDEO IS NOW AVAILABLE!! But only lite version though with 4 options - merge, change sound, add text and cut. But it's cool that you can now merge 1 video with another now. biggrin.gif

However, I noticed there's also the Widget thing but I couldn't find in my phone's menu. hmm.gif It's basically allow web based program running as S60 application...Anyone that has the firmware freshly installed without restoring your older menu setting can confirm have this or not? hmm.gif
*
what do u mean by video is now available....r u refering to video editing function... hmm.gif

anyone has a good guide for activating gps?
i played around, at first can see the 'world' in the map's app. then i play play zoom in until see nothing, blank screen.

i read have to wait 30mins or more rite for satelitte lock? the bottom right of the screen the small pic of 3 dots still rotating...

i din d/l any maps yet...
*
try to enable A-GPS...it will help u to reduce da lock time dramastically, thou it only charges around 6 - 8 sens of network charges...make sure u r in an open environment n i heard tt u shud slide ur keypad up for better gps performance as da gps chip is somewhere under da keypad...hope it helps

QUOTE(pigcat @ Jan 5 2008, 07:41 PM)
When you shake your phone vertically (by holding the phone body but not touching the slider plate) did you notice the slider moving? Mine only will move if shake hard, and won't go contant tack tack tack, only like 30% of the time, that is when I shake it hard.. Can felt the slider is still firm but of course not as firm as when it was new. And it was remained that way even I always hand gatal go to slide it up and down few times in the past few weeks. brows.gif So no worries. wink.gif

Also I'm loving the slightly loosen slider cause sliding it up and down is more easier, and not to the point the phone will accidently slided in the pocket. biggrin.gif
*
actually a slight wobble is not avoidable....as this is a dual slider phone which could slide up n slide down, da slider would get loose n abit wobble as time pass.....as long as da slider is not very loose n could even shake wif a slight movement, then imo i think it should be ok......atleast this is wat i think... biggrin.gif

Ya loh...If single slide then Nokia will put "heavy duty" type (at least it felt that way e.g. 5610 and E65). Now double side slide the slider has to be flexible on both side. I think that's the nature of dual slide unless somebody came out with a better one. biggrin.gif
*
yeap...i do like da sliding mechanism of e65 n 5610...i play wif my fren set n da sliding mechanism is v smooth n firm....consider da first dual slider phone, i think nokia has does a good job as nokia is good in candy bar phone, unlike samsung which produce a better slider phone...

go to nokia.com n download nokia software updater (NSU) to check if da latest latest firmware if available to ur product code...as u r using ap set, it depends on ur product code or whether is ur phone branded or not...if da latest firmware is not availabe for ur product code, u can simply jz download NSS to change ur product code which da latest firmware is availabe and update ur phone

QUOTE(piku @ Jan 9 2008, 12:11 AM)
Hi everyone,

Am planning to get either a N95 8GB or a N95.

Will i face any problems if i get an AP set N95 8GB or it is recommended only to get the ori set?

Am afraid i will be facing problems downloading maps or future updates etc. Need someone to enlighten me here : )
*
get da n95 8gb since it has a bigger screen n 8gb built in....some might said it lack of memory card n in future u could get a 16 or 32gb card, but those card wont be cheap when it is available n i believe u wont really push da 8gb storage to da its limit....well it jz my opinions

whether AP or original is depends on what price u could get for AP..if it is only 100-300 cheaper than da original then i would recommend u to get da original as n95 8gb is out for quite a long time...hence da AP set u get might be a recon set...if u really wanna get an AP set, make sure u get it from someone who is reliable....if it is in ur budget, get da original set.....

for map u could download it from NOKIA or Smart2go....firmware wise u can always change ur product code using NSS n update it thru NSU

normally gps wont hv any problem either ap or original set...i didn't hear abt...most probably is da map problems (3rd party map application)....if used nokia maps then wont hv any problem...

*
never heard bout da issues....try to hard reset da phone first, if it still doesn't solve out da problem, then try to reflash da firmware....hope it helps

Hairline scratch? hmm.gif I doubt Nokia will replace for only hairline scratch, dunno maybe you can try your luck cause if many people replace the lens cover cause of small scratch they'll rugi quite fast... hmm.gif

I'm still waiting for my Invincible Shield, still haven't arrive yet, scare lost during the trip or mailed to other house cause there's an address 95% similar with mine, only 1 word different... ohmy.gif
*
yeap...i don think nokia will replace da lens cover for u jz becos of a hairline scratch....if i'm is u, even if nokia wont replace da lens cover for free i would pay for da new lens cover n apply da invisible shield so tt da handset could look as nice as a new phone

I do not see any AP N95 8GB before, so I was wondering whether this high end AP phone comes with any label such as (normally that we can see is the word TIM or AT&T and etc..)?

Is Nokia retailer normally sells higher price than outside stall for original set?

The other question is, AP set can be recond set because it has already been launched for quite sometime. However, original set can also be recond set???? Because you see, I can put in the latest firmware to the used original set before putting it back into the original box, seal it nicely and then sell it out as new original set? Any way to make sure? Thanks.  rclxub.gif
*
if u c any label such as at&t or vodafone, those is branded n95 8gb, where da phone is installed wif firmware coming wif their own customization

most of da time nokia shop will hv a higher price compare to those 3rd party shop...however i do saw some shop selling at a higher price, 3099 - 3299 where nokia shop sell at 2999

original set 99.9% wont be a recon set, if u buy an original set, u shud make sure tt da phone is under avaxx waranty, and da imei no in da phone match da box, where ap set phone's imei no wont match da box's imei....furthermore, i heard tt some of da ap set now might be those phone where snatch theif steal it n sell it out to phone seller, n da phone seller resell it out as a new phone....tt's why is is important for u to find a reliable seller if u wanna get an ap set
