Can help share PHEV car pantang?
I’m considering Vios hybrid rm105k, but if top up a bit can get Proton Emas 7 PHEV at rm130k

Been reading around and found:

- PHEV car must charge at home/charger. Charging from engine while driving is not sufficient. Battery will rosak if long time no plug in
- if battery kosong, then you’re carrying dead weight. Fuel consumption become worse

Any other PHEV car pantang that I should know?

Another question, does PHEV car got ECU to manage the battery and not let it drained until kosong so the battery won’t rosak?

If I stick to vios hybrid, what’s the difference between Toyota 4th gen hybrid in Vios/Corolla Cross compared to Toyota 5th gen hybrid in Camry/Innova Zenix?

Worry so much, might as well buy BEV. You just need to worry about battery health.

technically will the battery even become kosong if u drive it? I never heard of this worry that the battery will rosak if long time no plugin to be honest.

I think the only downside for PHEV is that you need to charge the car and pump petrol at the same time.

If charging the car is a hassle, then why not direct consider on hybrid only, Cross or HRV is a good option tho.

new gen phev won't allow your battery to be <20%, once below that automatically will run the engine to charge your battery to run the car, convenience wise, buy if you are able to charge it at home

Chery PHEV including tiggo, jaecoo j7 seems to work like normal hybrid with bigger battery, in the sense that it doesnt allow the battery to go totally empty
means that it "should" be possible to drive it without charging, and still enjoy some form of saving

Most modern hybrids dont let the battery went 0% as they need to keep the battery health at optimum. When battery is low, they will run the engine unless your fuel also 0% then no choice.

the car have regen to charge the battery while moving but it is recommended to charge the battery and dont let it "empty" for long period of time

if the battery is empty, your car will be slower and feel like towing a heavy stuff behind

I see, so newer PHEV has system that controls the battery yes?
Once the battery level goes too low, it won’t draw power from it anymore to protect it?

Define relaxing drive? relaxing in lower maintenance, better reliability or better comfort when driving on highway or normal roads?

yes, actually is not new lah, ever since 1st gen Prius is like that, just that now the PHEV more like, EREV, but the ICE will assist at higher speeds >80kph via the DHT gearbox
