This video on Khairul Amin's Rembayung just came up on Youtube and it looked pretty good especially the kuehs. Has anyone tried the food at Rembayung which I presume is just newly opened? The kuehs look good and I'm interested to know if they are delicious. I would also appreciate if there are recommendations on places which sell good kuih Melayu such as the ones served at Rembayung.

I love these Malay kuehs and often pack some at Nasi Lemak stalls set up along the road side. Some stalls sell good delicious kuehs but there are kuehs which don't taste good at other stalls.

I was wondering if there are stalls or restaurants which sell good kuehs like the ones sold at Rembayung restaurant which looks high quality. I'm not sure if the kuehs are made in-house or made elsewhere and brought to this restaurant. Anybody knows? The kuehs look fresh though, surely different from the ones sold at nasi lemak stalls!~

It's 'Rembayung' not Rembayang. I am not affiliated with them. Have you visited the restaurant or have any recommendations for good Malay kuehs?

Thanks. I think I tried the kuih at Nyonya Colors last year or 2 years ago at 1Utama branch. Yes the kuihs are good, but it's only limited selection and not a lot of variety.

Yes, small outlet, food on the menu is good and the kuihs are good too. Price of the kuihs at Nyonya Colors is higher than roadside stalls but still reasonable and most importantly, good quality and delicious kuihs, not too sweet. Some kuihs sold at stalls are soggy with poor texture, or too sweet ie. not good.

Sri talamaz. just saw they also have new shop in bangsar.
Their quality is hotel standard, suspect they supply to outside.
They are in grab and saw an online shop.

Thanks for this. They even have a website and it does look good. https://sritalamaz.oddle.me/en_MY

Will try when there is opportunity. I particularly like their Kueh Gift Set priced at RM37.50 for 25 pieces.

From the sound of it, looks like this restaurant may cater more to the elite or VIP than the public. Need to book 8 days in advance but there are no tables after 8 days? 😅 Not too sure how they could make a profit if running a business like that without people queuing up everyday like Village Park nasi lemak where people need to wait up to 2 hours standing in the queue just for a plate of nasi lemak.
