its a subsale condo. i plan to let out.

the ceiling fan can on, but not moving. it need to press the remote control to initiate it.
unfortunately, the remote control is spoilt beyond repair.

Any solution? at minimum cost. According to.chatgpt and gemini, the fan is DC motor.

There are many mobile phone support IR remote control function. Try setup one to see whether the fan is working. Best solution is to get a universal remote controller.

You can try getting the 3rd party remote control replacement first as that's the cheapest solution. If that fails, you can consider a new fan without remote such as this one. The price has increased to about RM160 now, previously was about RM110 if I"m not mistaken, several years ago.

Based on poor experience with ceiling fans which come with lights and remote control, I now only use basic ceiling fans which don't come with remote such as this one.

you just need remote?
use google lens search for replacement or search by brand name.
