Zahid: Umno tiada hubungan langsung dengan DAP, hanya BN-PH
Presiden Umno Ahmad Zahid Hamidi hari ini menegaskan bahawa partinya tidak mempunyai “hubungan langsung” dengan DAP, sebaliknya menekankan bahawa kerjasama sedia ada dalam kerajaan perpaduan terjalin antara BN dan Pakatan Harapan (PH) sebagai gabungan politik.

“Kita (Umno) tidak pernah mempunyai hubungan langsung dengan DAP.
“Hubungan kita ialah antara Barisan Nasional dengan Pakatan Harapan. Oleh kerana MCA adalah merupakan parti komponen di dalam BN dan DAP adalah parti komponen di dalam PH.

“Maka kita harus meletakkan asas utama bahawa kerjasama ini bukan daripada parti ke parti, tetapi dari segi gabungan ke gabungan dan perkara ini boleh diselesaikan juga kesefahaman dapat dicapai,” katanya kepada pemberita di Kuala Lumpur.

Pengerusi BN itu berkata demikian ketika diminta mengulas ucapan Presiden MCA Wee Ka Siong pada perhimpunan agung tahunan parti itu pada 7 Dis yang dilaporkan memberi amaran agar BN tidak meneruskan kerjasama dengan PH dalam pilihan raya umum akan datang.
Dalam ucapannya kepada perwakilan, Wee membuat ancaman halus tetapi jelas bahawa MCA bersedia meninggalkan BN sekiranya “sebahagian sekutu BN” mahu terus bekerjasama dengan DAP dan PH.

Walaupun Wee tidak menamakan mana-mana pihak secara khusus, ia difahami merujuk kepada Umno yang dipimpin Zahid, yang juga timbalan perdana menteri.
Mengulas lanjut, Zahid hari ini menegaskan kepentingan mengamalkan “rasionaliti politik”, khususnya dalam menghadapi Pilihan Raya Umum ke-16.

“Serahkanlah kepada kepimpinan utama kedua-dua gabungan untuk menangani dan melepasi permasalahan yang ada,” katanya.

Wee sebelum ini menyasarkan DAP dan PH atas dakwaan melakukan banyak “pusingan U” dalam pelbagai isu, namun tidak memperincikannya.
Perhimpunan agung MCA itu berlangsung susulan pilihan raya negeri Sabah yang menyaksikan DAP tewas di semua kerusi yang ditandingi, PKR kekal dalam pentadbiran pimpinan GRS dengan hanya satu kerusi, manakala Umno memperoleh enam kerusi.

Selain MCA, Zahid yang juga adalah timbalan perdana menteri hari ini diserang Pemuda MIC selepas dia menuduh parti komponen BN itu “mabuk kuasa” susulan cadangan MIC untuk turut meninggalkan gabungan tersebut.

I as a face sitter personally if anyone from both side see, as type C population is going down to near 20% now. If still divided, more & more policies not fair to other minority will be enforce step by step. If MCA & DAP can work togather next GE i forsee it will be a great win for both, if both still fight until the end, i will foresee both side will loss while PN or other parties will creep in for the win.

Nons actually not divided and give DAP 40 seats, MCA command at most 5~7% of type C vote last GE. But you see now Madanon is actually more progressive or conservative?

Time for nons to realise "openness" of policies does not depend on minority, but on the sentiment of majority. If there are leaders like Najib who can tame those conservative then the policy will be more progressive.

More seats in urban area already got more type M creeping in, the 40 seats wont be the same next time. Since last GE already got forecast that this will be the best DAP can get, after that next GE will drop but not sure drop how much. From today market, at least 50~70% sure gone if election is done today as DAP were seen unable to bring any changes that why need to work togather to gather all type C supporters. If still like Sabah one place 3~4 people compete sure gonna loss even more.

The only way out for type C now is empower East Malaysia to be more progressive and increase their number of parliament seats so there's more progressive lawmakers.

However, hardcore DAP supporters still keep attacking GPS and Warisan. They themselves no balls to against their conservative taiko but still trying to undermine the parties that actually protect them.

Politics has gone to the dogs.

This time is a little reminisce of 1990 GE and what happened re the Chinese school protests of 1987 and the Education Minister then and the internal politics of S46 v Umno.

Racial tensions were high, Ops Lalang was done. There was at then a pervasive 'white terror' feel preceding GE8.

The end result, Chinese votes melted away from the ruling government. Tun launched vision 2020 which preceded the decade of unity and satisfaction with BN which persisted and led to the largest share ever of non votes to keep BN in power in 1999 GE10 even in the face of 1997, the sacking of DPM Anwar, the romance of Barisan Alternatif (PAS-Keadilan-DAP)
