i dont really like the idea of EV charger in shopping mall.

if i dont hav charger at home, & rely on going to mall to charge, i cant really count on it because what if it's occupied when i'm there?
that means i should make sure my EV have at least 50-60% battery even if going to nearby mall.
but if i'm already on50-60% charge, not that much more that i can top up.
depending on on charger speed, meaning it can be done charging pretty quickly.
meaning i hav to time my stay in the mall, cuz idle charge is expensive AF, & it's also courtesy to vacant the spot once your car is fully charged.
that means i i hav to go bck to parking, circle around & find regular parking.
i can arrive early to get EV charger spot, but by the time i need to moved my car, already many shoppers & regular parking spot might be hard to come by.

if i dont rely on mall EV charger, usually, the most stresful part of mall visit on weekends/holidays, or going event/expo is finding parking.
after that roam free, spend however much time i like in the mall.
i dont know, maybe for me, charging EV in mall is an anxiety inducing activity.

Put it this way, should charge for parking and charging. Maybe charge premium for that parking?

I am not a EV driver .but its a free country no? It's up to the owner of the parking.

good for parking owner, ie, municipal council, but not good for businesses.
a while bck, UK has this problem where they start to increase parking fees, & charge hefty parking fines in busy area.
usually that area us busy until people park illegally.
because of the fines, & fees less people choose the visit & do their shopping elsewhere.
municipal happy cuz they earn some "short change' through fines, but businesses complained drop in traffic.

it's a bit like sawing your ship for material to build a boat, & calling it a win

1. Why do you need to have 50-60% battery before you go charge? You can go when you only left 20%. How far is the mall you want to go?

2. How long you want to do your shopping? 2 hours not enough?

3. Tell me you don't have EV without telling me you don't have EV.

i'm not generalizing, i'm just sharing a me problem.
maybe i hav anxiety.
sometimes weekends dating with wife, no plan 1.
it's not uncommon that might spend the whole day there.
shopping + attend gathering/expo/event + movie + lunch + dinner
sometimes wife suka2, for example, "lets go genting eat xxxxxxx".
that anxiety comes from time management.
going for movie for example, u need to commit 2-3 hours there.
buy ticket also have to find slot that dont clash with full charge.

i also feel that it's common courtesy that if u're using public charger, u shoud charge fast, & GTFO when reach 9x%.
it's not just about paying idle fees, but also sharing infra with people

Window shopping to kill time scenario: If ur car left 20%, u go mall, select AC charging, that will take around 4-6 hours charging, depend on the charger speed. You dont need to fight parking with ICE car.

Grocery je scenario: If ur car left 20%, u go mall, select DC charging. less than an hour finish charge. just ngam ngam u finish grocery. No need spend time finding parking.

You dont pump when your petrol still at 50-60%. Same goes with battery. what would you go charge at 50-60%?

Dont think so much, just enjoy it. You will know what to do when you have it.

i just hav that feeling that when using public charger, i shoud charge fast, & GTFO when reach 9x%.
cuz it's a shared infra & other people also want to use.
occupying a charge slot, even if u dont mind paying for idle charge, is like those assholes that go to petrol station, spend 2m to pump, then proceed to shop/go toilet for half an hour.
if u're gonna go that, at least move your car to proper parking space & free up the pump.
same principle wit public charger.
