From USA-Malaysia agreement. Does this means Malaysia give up her soverign rights to trade with anyone they wanted?

Article 3.3: Digital Trade Agreements
Malaysia shall consult with the United States before entering into a new digital trade agreement with another country that jeopardizes essential U.S. interests.

3. If Malaysia enters into a new bilateral free trade agreement or preferential economic agreement with a country that jeopardizes essential U.S. interests, the United States may, if consultations with Malaysia fail to resolve its concerns, terminate this Agreement and reimpose the applicable reciprocal tariff rate set forth in Executive Order 14257 of April 2, 2025.

Basically they using tariff on your exporters to coercive you. That's why exporters should not think the issue is over because anytime it can flare up again. And there is no guarantee exporters interest will always be protected because at the end of the day, it is about which choice yields the most benefits. If you are forced to give up $200 billion worth in order to protect export interests of $100 billion worth, the choice will not favor the exporters.

Why is people worrying about things that hasn't happen or may not happen at all? What's important is solving the problem at bay which is to reduce the tariff to as low as possibly can, eliminate uncertainties, so we can move on to more important stuffs, like finding other markets. We can't even guarantee US won't threaten us for whatever reason again, even countries with FTA with US like Canada and Mexico also kena tariff.

I prefer to buy from Amazon if possible. I see the same products sold here and over there, but the China sellers treat the Amazon customers better and give them more benefits. Sometimes even cheaper. So less chance of them scamming me. Angmoh standards apply.

Here, they tindas you....

TS, a simple google search will tell you what is a digital trade agreement is.
QUOTE
A Digital Trade Agreement (DTA) is a pact between countries to set rules for the digital economy, making online transactions, data flows, and e-commerce smoother, safer, and more open by banning customs duties on digital products, promoting e-signatures/contracts, ensuring consumer protection (anti-spam), protecting data privacy, and preventing forced source code disclosure, with examples like the EU-Singapore DTA and the ASEAN DEFA creating frameworks for modern digital commerce.

so a bilateral trade is a broad traditional trade agreement so unrelated to the new digital trade agreement clause.
