Now that Sumatra Indonesia devastated by deforestation for illegal palm trees, they will surely use this excuse to ban palm oil entirely

Notice a pattern here. Like the Raub Durian, people fighting over it not becos they care about the environment. Nobody cares about the environment. Lol.

Just remember if the Earth wants to wipe humans out, anytime can.

so many wrong in one video
you can't even get the number 19.4 million tonne right, dafak u make a video with AI slop without even checking details. i hope it's just a college homework and not paid propaganda. what a slop

Depends on the target viewer, bringing up the western side being the villain and getting praised is just plain stupid.
They've always been consistent on palm oil practice is bad (burning forest - real, slavery - real, orang utan home destroyed - real), but never say theirs better when it comes to environment or oil yield.

In the westerners (consumer) mind, the more you avoid the allegation by diverting it elsewhere, the more they feel you're guilty.

In the end, if your target viewer is South East Asian, then cincai la... we've seen countless such videos already, and their preference is mostly dictated by price and availability.

but if such a video is targeted for angmoh, then cannot lah... how many years already still same pattern, same story, same diversion. u no sien i also sien.

Just convert all oil palm plantation in WM to solar farm. With less supply palm oil price would go up.

According to a June 2024 report by Maybank Investment Bank (Maybank IB) Research, converting oil palm land to large-scale solar (LSS) farms could generate up to 54 times more operating profit per mature hectare compared to planting oil palm.
Key Details from the Maybank Report
Profitability: The report highlights significant financial benefits for plantation companies that venture into the renewable energy sector.
Faster Returns: Solar projects can provide immediate rental or operating income, bypassing the typical seven-year gestation period required for newly planted oil palms to generate their first profits.
Maximizing Land Value: Maybank encourages planters to become LSS project operators themselves to maximize the value of their land and support Malaysia's renewable energy goals.
Potential Beneficiaries: Plantation companies mentioned in the report as potential beneficiaries due to their estate locations include SD Guthrie Bhd (formerly Sime Darby Plantation Bhd), Kuala Lumpur Kepong Bhd (KLK), and IOI Corp Bhd.
Industry Response
SD Guthrie (the world's largest palm oil producer by acreage) has publicly announced its renewable energy ambitions with a one-gigawatt (GW) capacity target and is already working on projects.
IOI Corp has also allocated a portion of its aged plantation land in Johor for a solar power plant.
The move is seen as a way for palm oil giants to diversify revenue streams, enhance their environmental, social, and governance (ESG) credentials, and meet the high energy demand from the growing data center industry in Malaysia.

Only area around equator conducive for oil palm, n not all equatorial land r suitable. That is why MY & IN r major producers.
