Summary

Creative Technology is downsizing space, relocating from its Jurong HQ due to an expired lease to a smaller space in Alexandra Technopark by March 2026.
Creative faces leadership uncertainty, with the interim CEO stepping down in January 2026 and a search for a permanent replacement ongoing, after recent CEO changes.
Creative reported losses but improved results due to layoffs of 14% of their workforce, while facing challenging market conditions and potential tariff impacts.

SINGAPORE – Home-grown Creative Technology is downsizing space and moving out of its headquarters in the International Business Park in Jurong.

The company told The Straits Times in response to queries on Dec 12 that it will move to Alexandra Technopark in March 2026.
The lease at its current premises has expired and the company has opted not to renew it.

Kesian, they dominated in the early 90s computer scene until manufacturers started incorporating audio processors into their motherboard

On-board audio has been steadily improving by a lot...can produce decent sound (to my non-audiophile ears)
while Creative's drivers have been steadily subject to much cost-cutting.

Compare the X-fi Titanium which gave 24 parameters of adjustment to just the reverb alone, and today's Audigy FX/RX with just treble and bass to tweak. Meh!

Yes, but not everyone audiophile
Also, with headphones, there's no need for 5.1 speakers in quake2 death matches

Founder already long gone.

The company lacked directions due to competitions and technology shifts.

My USB Creative XFi "soundcard" has lasted for more than 10 years already. Imagine one day Creative bankrupt and no more new driver for new OS. gg. sad.gif
