Agreed. Of all the bad strategies to choose, Anwar has to pick the worst. Stepping on the nons to appeal the hardliners and what he gets is barely any change from the malay votes, and collapsing support from the nons and the moderate malays.

Had he gone for the moderate, firm but fair approach, where everyone is treated as malaysians instead of "malay must win and nons need to lose", he would have gained more support and expand the moderate malay base. Now the best he can vote for is nons still not supporting pn but also not coming out to vote in the coming ge
