Think this is not the first case of X50 going crazy. Previously got one is reverse then died

Highly possible is the cruise control. U tekan wrongly it will activate then accelerate to the set speed quickly.

Fact that cruise control can accelerate the car also means its possible for software glitches to happen and car to accelerate itself.

Most concern here is the statement that the brakes felt limp

Brake can't press can understand but how carpet can cause it to accelerate? Even if specs stuck, for the pedal to stuck there, someone needs to press it to that level first, from dashcam can see she was driving slowly steadily so even if stuck it wouldn't accelerate
