i achieve that on mixed of city & city highway drive, on eco mode.
mostly weekends go dating or outstation drive.
maybe my driving style is smooth. i dont like sudden heavy braking or sudden acceleration if not needed.
ie, gently cruise to a highway speed & maintain highway speed, or gently cruise to slow down before exit or tolls.

for daily rush hour commute, drive mazda 2 instead.
also able to achieve 800+km on a single 44l tank.

usually, what car manufacturer claims are lab test & not really achievable on real world condition.
i'm pretty surprise that mazda actually delivers on it's FC claim.

but cannot be saud about everyone la.
some drivers heavy footer, prefer the omph of engine rev.
it's ok to not care about FC, especially fuel cheap nowadays.

I belip chu. I won't doubt a bit on the efficiency of newer gen engines like the Skyactiv G that is using GDI tech.

In comparison, my dinosaur tech 4G92P MT can do 18+km/l on KL Ktn drives consistently back in mid-2000s, if I don't push it. Just casual 90-110km/h, but this on EURO2 ECU, not the older Mitsu ECU. In 2022 in Cameron Highland trip, it did 17+km/l return trip to KL without refuelling. Since family was onboard and going up mountain, no hypermiling technique applied.

With driving methods shared by you above, I am confident a very recent tech-ed 1.5litre engine should be achieving better FC as I am using same methods too.

Still with your K3? Want ask if there anyway to reduce body roll on K3? Slight corner I feel the rear already excessive slanted...

Try using shock absorber that is stiffer than ori/Mando ones. I am using Keister brand OE replacement absorbers for 2nd time for front and 1st time at rear on my Elantra. It noticeably reduced body roll in corners and more noticeable when the rear was changed out last year.

Don't get me wrong, these aren't sport suspension part, but slightly uprated from ori or Mando brand absorbers known for comfort/soft setting. Much like KYB Excel-G range vs RS Ultra kinda thing.
