If get android, turn on the "dumb" mode for them and enable the Secure Lockdown mode (advanced protection mode)

I bought a poco x3 pro (prov 4-5 years back) for my dad.

Its wonderful. Big. Fast. Reliable.

Id recommend the latest poco. Not sure what model now.

You pandai pandai look into your WhatsApp account, see how much space it takes then make decisions from there.
Better yet, look into parents phone storage level for more accurate data

Nothing looks gaming to it. U try see. Im surprised with the screen. Bright smooth amoled, quad curve. Reminiscent of galaxy note series. N since u brought the gaming spec, yes the snapdragon 7s gen 3 is snappy enough for anything to throw to it.

A17 LTE. Very important to have OLED for old people as their eyesight not that great. Storage also 256GB. Official RM799. Can get much cheaper during sales.

poco x7pro now if buy from xiaomi website is 1199 for 12gb+256 rom, can discount RM150 for new user of xiaomi slightly over budget but the specs would be overkill for them

Buy from brand Techno or Infinix.

This brand were for African and Indian market, cheaper price yet features and quality built is good. No fancy features yet still very durable.

RM900 for Techno/Infinix is equivalent to RM1200-1500 from Oppa or Viva brand..
