Now it just occured to me,

P2 say the battery will be on a lease at least 9 years .

but the battery and technology is fast evolving right?

after 9 years, will the same technology be used? if there is "improvements" in the battery design, can it fit the chassis? or you stuck with an obsolete battery design ?

Those buyers after 9 years (2nd owner), will they sign a new lease 9 years after with the same "battery" tech?

lol, like "lifetime warranty" lor. does not mean your lifetime or in this case, the cars lifetime.

No way they going to give you new battery technology . This is greedy businessman . You going to get the same battery from 2025/26 even after 9 year later.

You buy high tech products you expect thle product to be high tech for years? Try 4 months. That's the industry standard.

There will of course be a newer battery tech, and Perodua will be dumb to not sell it to existing customers. QV-E now has a 445KM NEDC (LOL) range... After 9 years probably be about 360KM or so.

New battery will probably get you up to 500km++ NEDC range, heck maybe 600km++, so owners will thinks it's a must have upgrade.

And Perodua will ofcourse want another 9 years lease on the new battery.

And because it's using a slightly different connector and stuff, there's a one time few of probably few thousand to rework the car.

But wait, the new batter allows for 0-80% charge within 3 minutes, but QV-E's onboard systems can't support that. So they're gonna offer you a DC Charging rate upgrade for another couple thou.

Perodua should just provide leasing for the entire car instead. Cheaper and less hassle.

But instead, they will sell u a shell without the battery of which u need to take a loan for. Kinda silly paying installments for something which cannot move without the battery.

perokdua quoted NEDC 445KM or WLTP 370KM, give or take from typical driving will give around 330KM-ish range. If reduce to 70% battery health, that will drop below 300KM...
