That goes back to 1969 and nobody wanted to remove the legal barrier to SS's claim. Until Najib did so in 2012. That's why Najib is the best thing that ever happened to SS.

Taib is a intended outcome of Sarawak joining Malaya.
The amount of patronage that allows socio-political spending in interior regions means that he will always win.
Even till today, there isn't a expat / diaspora Sarawakian billionaire (or quater billioniare. I think that is the minimum amount of personal wealth that can affect Sarawakian socio--econo-politics bar a life-ending catastrophe happening ) that is willing to invest into Sarawak's socio-political future.

May be true but Sarawakian may not have a choice. Any SS leaders that opposed or talk too much Federal will have very bad luck like plane crash or detained under ISA
