What is holding back Cdramas are really government censorship. Cdramas producers know their strength which is focus on good looking male and female leads. The story might be cringe to some but they know their market, woman. That's why the romance aspect are emphasize. I was actually shocked that there are a lot of kissing scenes in Cdramas. Higher than TVB in their glory days. It's also why they are getting a larger following from foreign markets.

Even their donghua have many kissing scenes. It is almost like censorship in China is nothing but a myth now.

lol nowadays i watch more c-drama than k-drama. it is fast-paced and you get the adrenaline/dopamine rush when watching all episodes in 1 sitting.

k-drama used to be also this good with the same fast-paced fast action. But nowadays I dunno why they changed to making all those slow-paced "artistic" movies. Some more each episode is 1-hour long and the story doesn't progress at all
