In politics, this is called collective responsibility. If you are a party member, member of a coalition or even a minister for that matter, you will always align with the leadership because when an agenda is proposed, the cabinet has an opportunity to put forward their views to tweak the policy, and when it goes to parliament, members will do further tweaking before it's table for a vote.

If after going through such a long and tedious process, every member or minister can make a U-turn or go off tangent and disagree publicly, imagine what kind of government we will have? When a decision is needed, bad or good, there must be a decision. Otherwise, this country will be at a standstill.

Also, the standard for those in position, especially ministers, is that if they disagree with a policy of the government, the right way to go about it, is to resign their position.

I've said it before but bear repeating. The problem with GST in Msia is too many exemptions. It's supposed to be fair taxation but they add in so many exclusion become like only certain demographic get punished. Not to mention all those refund issues and money from GST goes to certain accounts only etc.

If you're gonna do that just stick with sst. Give subsidy for eggs. No need do all this and force sme's to fork out thousands to do compliance and wait for refunds.
