PC, phone all will become more expensive. But on the other hand, want everything digitialized but no give free phone to people. I feel like the whole tech scene is killing the goose that lays the golden eggs. When people stop buying tech, see what those brand new online platform, AI, computerized services etc gonna cope. Technology product has always been getting cheaper for the past few decades. But now it seems every manufacturers are trying to find ways to reverse that trend. First is HDD, then NVidia, now everyone else start following. Sure the companies gonna make more profit by making the same product more expensive. But that will come with the downside of market getting smaller over time soon. The market has been growing in the past because it gets more affordable and more people adopting it. I guess they get used to the idea that their market will remain the same trend forever and completely miss the reason why the growth happens in the first place. For the sake of convenience, we are being charge to the roof. Take banking for example. How much do you pay for using your own bank? π ... ... Now every 2 to 3 year you got to change your phone because tak boleh update. And now without a phone, you can't even use your bank π Phoenix_KL, TruboXL, and 1 other liked this post

Looking at my 4 x 32gb ddr4-3200 micron pc ram.
I'll have to use them for a few more years. Thank god i bought like 20 sticks of 16G recc ddr4 server ram last year, should be sufficient for next few years.. and my batch of 18 x U2 3.84G ssd. This post has been edited by yushin: Today, 08:25 AM |

sigh... despite i'm also actually invested in nvdia stocks, i really hope AI bubbles will pop soon & screw those corpos holding the bag.. fcking AI getting shoved to everyone's throat unwillingly and ruining things i don't fully reject it, I support AI development for things that really matter - such as AI for medicals like cancer diagnosis, space exploration, autonomous drivings. I don't want AI in my phone, browser, socmeds, memes, my P&C data, important government stuff I don't want AI removing artists jobs so that media corps can save more money producing crappy AI video slops (fcking local TV channels with their AI azan & other slops). I don't want AI datacentres getting built more and more & hogging all the regular consumer utilities resource Phoenix_KL liked this post

No big deal. Crucial is the retail arm for Micron just as Klevv is a retail arm for SK Hynix.
Micron will continue to produce ram chips and nand flash still because servers use the same thing as consumer range stuffs , just with slightly different packaging. |

QUOTE(stanck @ Dec 4 2025, 06:45 AM) For the sake of convenience, we are being charge to the roof. Could have been even worse. Back when online fund transfer first launched, you are expected to pay RM2.00 per transfer, which of course was not very successful. Even now, with duitnow, there is a clause that it charges RM0.50 per transfer, which is currently exempted for low value transfer. Exempt for now, who knows when one day it will make a comeback? Take banking for example. How much do you pay for using your own bank? π ... ... Now every 2 to 3 year you got to change your phone because tak boleh update. And now without a phone, you can't even use your bank π This post has been edited by vhs: Today, 05:05 PM |

QUOTE(raquinz @ Dec 4 2025, 02:33 PM) Thats right, the US is using memory like rare earth to stop China's AI, or rather control the global supply of AI GPUs. they are scare shirtless after Deepseek V3.2. but this will only spur China to dbl down on memory production and eventually make them cabbage price. This post has been edited by Penamer: Today, 05:11 PM |

QUOTE(raquinz @ Dec 4 2025, 01:13 PM) damn..at this rate, RAM and SSD will cost thousand of ringgit just for 16GB or memory or 512GB SSD..A simple offfice pc build will easily reach 5k without GPU.What a time to be living Squeeze for all companies running multiple PCs. Might suddenly become a push to run Linux on older hardware even in office environment, if Microsoft also lansi still think can force consumers to upgrade their PCs by releasing new OS which cannot run on old hardware. |
