already saved me. bought brand new WALRAM ddr3 sticks a few months ago when I couldnt find any reasonably priced ram on shopee that wasnt obviously used. also for GPU you can see more and more china brands taking over established brands for those older legacy types (for eg COLORFUL).

damn..at this rate, RAM and SSD will cost thousand of ringgit just for 16GB or memory or 512GB SSD..A simple offfice pc build will easily reach 5k without GPU.What a time to be living

PC, phone all will become more expensive. But on the other hand, want everything digitialized but no give free phone to people. I feel like the whole tech scene is killing the goose that lays the golden eggs. When people stop buying tech, see what those brand new online platform, AI, computerized services etc gonna cope.

Technology product has always been getting cheaper for the past few decades. But now it seems every manufacturers are trying to find ways to reverse that trend. First is HDD, then NVidia, now everyone else start following. Sure the companies gonna make more profit by making the same product more expensive. But that will come with the downside of market getting smaller over time soon. The market has been growing in the past because it gets more affordable and more people adopting it. I guess they get used to the idea that their market will remain the same trend forever and completely miss the reason why the growth happens in the first place.

People will still buy tech, just like poorfags will go into debt for iphone

The price increase is due to supply not meeting demand. Basic economics. You only making noise because ram prices got really cheap in the last year few years, but wasn't always that cheap.

sigh... despite i'm also actually invested in nvdia stocks, i really hope AI bubbles will pop soon & screw those corpos holding the bag..
fcking AI getting shoved to everyone's throat unwillingly and ruining things
i don't fully reject it, I support AI development for things that really matter - such as AI for medicals like cancer diagnosis, space exploration, autonomous drivings.
I don't want AI in my phone, browser, socmeds, memes, my P&C data, important government stuff
I don't want AI removing artists jobs so that media corps can save more money producing crappy AI video slops (fcking local TV channels with their AI azan & other slops).
I don't want AI datacentres getting built more and more & hogging all the regular consumer utilities resource

Everything will be on subscription basis.

You pay small amount short term, large amount long term.

And at the end, you own nothing.

that's peak capitalism

Already bought when price was rock bottom. I'm good for the next 5 years at least. Even have older spare parts, probably can sell at higher price.

software will continue bloat and customer will eat it

gone are the days of optimized software that use as little resources as possible

The only saving grace i can see now is if quantum computing had a breakthrough and get adopted for ai workload.

But then again, come the risk of turboai
