The problem with massive discounts by car brands would be you make your car have less resale value. How does it affect them back in the long run? Customers who bought their cars wont be able to afford a new one when their customers could not afford the massive loses for their current cars.

So its an egg and chicken situation.

Haha... I face these kind of customers everday bro. Not everybody is reasonable like you. Most will want huge discounts for their new cars but also high values for their used ones.
