I thought the plot was the weakest link.
If you put your brain aside and just watch for entertainment, guess it works.

Period drama series always teach me something. Make me wonder why Japanese police dressed like Nazi back in Meiji era. Then I googled and found out Japanese import that approach because Prussia (part of Germany) was considered the strongest back then, and this was the Prussian uniform.
