Actually are they saying they can rival USA. Yes, they are showing off a lot of their new military assets but if you read the reports coming out from US, it is US themselves keep saying China is catching up and they need to spend big on their military. There are 2 reasons why China is promoting their military assets. First, it's to warn others they are not pushovers anymore and secondly, it's all a marketing campaign. Arms sales are a very lucrative biz.
As for this case, what do you think will happen if a German football player hold up a Nazi soldier picture?
About Taiwan issue, what is the official stand of Japan? Still one China policy? Even US don't outright say they will defend Taiwan if China invades. US policy has always been strategic ambiguity when it comes to Taiwan. Why is Japanese PM statement so controversial to China?
The last time Japanese troops are in China's territory, you know what happened, right? Taiwan was forcibly taken from Qing Dynasty and it's a major national humiliation. Japan are basically saying they will go to war with China if Taiwan is attacked. For CCP, the line they cannot tolerate is Taiwan declare independence. So, it's like Japan supporting Taiwan to declare independence.
Hati tissue? You do that to any countries and see what will be their response

Again, back when Japan didn't say it outright, whose side do you think they'll take when shit hits the fan?
Taiwan's economy is a unique national interest lucrative to everybody, if it didn't exist most other countries wouldn't care either.

If Germans today all say hail Hitler and celebrate Hitler day... You think Americans and rest of world will just say oh it's good you're just honouring those who died.
Get real.
I'm talking about Japan's Taiwan stance and the modern day geopolitics (and their vested interests) but people kept going on about 'muh WW2 deaths'.
