My question to /k, will the owners get charge for not submitting Vehicle Declaration form to the counter 8 for the given time frame? Eventhough the car is stranded in Hatyai...

Insurance company in MY was relieved that their vehicle insurance does not goes beyond the border.

Many did not buy insurance as well when their vehicle enters to Thailand.

Imagine, u can't afford the car but wan gaya to show off, then proceed max 9 years loan to get it. Then go hatyai kena banjir. End up car gone and need to pay 9 years loan for nothing, lol.

So remember guys, car is a depreciating and disposable asset. Make sure u buy one that u can afford easily incase shit happens.

Walao the numbers all bercanggah one. One says cars just around 200. Now 1000.

Just like the death numbers in Hatyai. Sebentar 100, then 200, then jumped straight to 1000.

Luckily I only buy cash for anything below 10k. If stolen or kaput, throw away and buy another. No loans!

Any reported car stolen, lost, make sure insurance check immigration records

There are records of the car's entry and exit on both Malaysian and Thailand immigration sides. Can't escape that.

IINM some insurers do offer Thailand extension for limited time of coverage for certain additional premium. By default our insurance only cover up to 80km from Thai border.

can.
kastam thailand don't care about your malaysian insurance.
they only care about thailand compulsory insurance (3rd party insurance) that covers their people.

most people don't buy voluntary insurance when entering thailand.
most people that buy voluntary insurance don't buy extension 101 when entering thailand.
and most people that did buy all three CI, VI and ext101 don't buy travel insurance.

it's rare for malaysian tourists to buy all 4: CI, VI, ext101 and TI just to go to hatyai.
1 week for all 4 insurance is upwards of RM500 so most people skip.

those premises will tow your car away or after certain time still nobody claim they'll just sell it as scrap.
maybe they will just report the car got stolen and claim total lost.
