I tried to transfer over 1500 with my phone

Suddenly security question prompt popped up, asking me to write right answer. This bullshit never happened before (the popup)

Naturally I couldn't remember the fucking answer which I could remember if 15 years ago and was locked out.

I spent half an hour waiting for customer service asking my access back.

They said wait 24 hours for their cyber security expert to call back.

I pressed for immediate resolution and they gave me the numbers of their cyber security department.

I called the numbers and no one answered.

We are in 2025 now, and online banking system is useless as fuck.

They will lock you out from the funds you own for shitty reason. (in the name of security)

Yet all the banks trying hard to get you to download their apps. Imagine you lost your phone or it got stolen. Your whole life is in your phone. They are trying to make you very dependent on it.

if anyone curious ,maybank password sometime got issue and if u want reset password , u can only reset the password every 24 hours which imo is a dumb take but i understand the bank is trying to protect us

Security question is designed to be simple to answer and most probably the answer not many people know of unless their are close to you and knows you well. Dont la simply taruk random answer then u can rmbr for the rest of your life unless u r senile

The core issue is, many people do not realize how important those online security question, password, authenticator, email etc etc truly is. They are all like the house keys, car keys etc. You lost it, and you are in for a lot of troubles. Why so many keys you ask? Then next time don't complain if you are required to keep a national key in the future like MyDigitalID. And same thing happens if you lost that key.

Confirm PBB the problem is the answer does not exist so whatever u do u will still be locked out

PBB special case la, the answer doesn't exist coz when u create the account if old account, the secret question wasn't asked. Suddenly they expect old account users for the secret question which u never keyed in the answer when u register. Damn fucked up

Aeon for savings. GX for daily expenditures. Ryt for utilities.

From GX will transfer 200 bucks for parking and tolls automatically via auto debit monthly to the TnG.

Also, the company account at CIMB will transfer 4-5k monthly to my personal Maybank account automatically. From here, I will take out 3k as cash and keep in a safe. The safe is bolted to the concrete subfloor using 1 ft long anchor bolts. There are 8 bolts in total. Good luck cutting them.

i kena lockout before on harimau bank because I forgot i changed to new password and typed in the old one few times, talked to customer service and kautim like in half an hour they unlocked it for me. They told me if lockout again then will have to wait 24h that time

Here's a tip for security question. Never give proper truthful answer. When they ask you to put in a security question, try to select questions that is not applicable to you or you have forgotten about it. Like name of your first pet, but you never had a pet in your life. Then for answer put in a nonsensical answer like "FUKYOU"to all the questions. Conlanfirm remember all your security questions one.

Wtf after I read your comment, I went to update my questions, but to update the question you need to answer a challenge question first, which I can’t remember so I just cancelled the whole process. Luckily account didnt get locked. But what happens if they randomly ask me the question again like TS??? What to do to prevent that??

The wierd thing I also don’t remember ever doing this. Asking me the town of where my Mather was born, I gave the answer and they said wrong, still have 2 more attempts but I just cancelled the whole process.

my ans definitely not mom name, but my personal thing which is would not related from question asked.
example during register choose question (doesnt matter what question).
i pick mother name then answer honda. system would not care answer is real name or not. i did use same answer for majority login. wont forget at all

Strange... my mom using pbb and few days ago asking to set question and answer. She didnt knew what it was but it blocked her from any transaction until she setup this.

There is no way out for this. In my experience my fpx transfer will never pass unless i update the challenge question.
PBB challenge will randomly popup when u do transfer even after u update it,just need to remember it or change to other. Maybank also have but less frequent.
For ur current siuation, u can try call 0321773555 pbb cs for reset, but beware many ppl say very hard to get ppl to pickup. Not sure if branch walk in settle this or not, cuz no experience, but pbb is orang tua bank should allow walk in kut.
