Even from a running business point of view, leasing battery is a difficult product to manage.

1. Battery performance is going to degrade over time and has substantial wear and tear effect. If the business wants to maintain the service quality then it will have to guarantee a certain level of performance, lets say 90%. Sure the business can claim 90% is way too high and 70% is the target, but does the customer want to pay the same amount for 70% of the performance?

Then how about the amount paid must be in proportional to the quality level? So 90% performance will pay 90% of the amount, while 70% will pay 70% of the amount? So that it encourages the business to maintain a high level of battery quality in order to earn more. But the battery cannot be repaired in conventional sense to improve the performance level. Its performance is on a one-way downward spiral, and it is costly to throw away a less than optimum battery and totally replace it with a new one. Therefore business will want the customers to pay for the same amount even when the performance level has dropped. But customers are no fools also. Who are they trying to cheat? tongue.gif

2. There will be many disputes regarding when a battery can be replaced free of charge, or the customers will be forced to bear the full cost of totally replace a battery. When the customers pay for the subscription, it is usually with the expectation that anything happens to the battery they should get a free one without additional charge. Then if the car get into accident, or get stuck in flood etc causing damage to the battery and needs to be replaced, will the company willing to do that for free? Also, incidents like this are driven by customer behaviors and how often the battery needs to be replaced might be unpredictable, and varies from customer to customer. It is difficult to predict if the subscription cost is enough to keep the subscription model afloat without any data. If the outcome is not favorable, then the company will be stuck with either raising price and causing serious backlash from the customers, or forced to run a losing money business.

So, it is better just sell the battery like everyone else. Leasing, more often than not, end up with lots of hidden costs and problems later. The customers will suffer and lose confidences in the company, then the company will suffer when customers abandoning them.

atto 2 is the most probably the better choice, since seal 6 is sedan
but still i guess atto 3 or emas 7 is the best choice here

Yup
Can calculate as battery 9yrs is RM297 x 108 months = RM32,076

Car Price RM80,000 + Battery RM32,076 = RM112,076

Assumption Loan: RM72,000 (9 years).
Monthly payment is about RM805
Total interest approximately: RM15,000

So total cost of ownership is Car + battery + interest = RM127,076

This P2 EV business model hard for Malaysian to swallow.
In EU or countries with 3times fuel cost may be can be accepted.

This is minimum amount.

If the battery fail at 6th year, replacement of battery triggering restart 9 years leasing again. If not, u got a useless toy car going nowhere. You also cannot "curi curi" repair or replace battery outside too. Really Hotel California

Lol! They didn't read the TnC ar? The battery are P2 property ler. Owner just renting it. P2 have the right to disable the battery too.

Plus the body and battery cannot separate if want to sell later and renew the leasing.

Haha... Hope they didn't think can replace with ICE in it

Anyway, if P2 turn Myvi got EV version plus similar pricing as now Myvi without this BaaS shit.. surely can sell like hotcake

Never try reinvent a wheel especially P2 are not big enough to be market leader. Let those big taikor car manufacturers lead the way. Even Japan manufacturers dare not jump in.

Either Japan manufacturers they lack innovation to pursue EV or saw the downfall of EV shortcoming. Nobody knows for sure, only future will tell.

the monthly battery leasing is tied to their loan payment. not paid separately.
