Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS) emerged as the largest bloc with 30 seats, but fell short of the 37 required for a simple majority in the 73‑seat assembly. To secure government, GRS stitched together a coalition with Pakatan Harapan (PH), the United Progressive Kinabalu Organisation (UPKO), and a handful of independents, bringing its tally to 39 seats.
