Is this product gonna be out by CNY? going back to civilization during that time...planning to pick it up then. If yes... any recommendations on where i can get it?

The gfx driver issue is mainly effecting the video, games and web browsing capabilities the hardest right? I'm getting the cruise primarily for the phone and pda functions though. Using it mainly for medical references. Is the problem significant?

Any other suggestions for a pda phone though? I'm looking for something that will last me both as a phone and a pda. Something in the line of the cruise. O2 i not on my list cause i have colleagues who are using them and testify to its sub par battery life.

please do tell about the performance of the device. i'm eager to find out how it handles 1st hand from a user. i guess my mind is practically set on getting the device...unless something catastrophic comes up

I just got my cruise from DigitalGadgets in lowyat yerterday. I havnt got to installing any softwares yet. here's the run down on what i got for RM2849 ( got a 50 buck discount )

Package includes:

3. 2gb microSD (original was 1gb)

Im not entirely sure whether its significant or not but i went into other shops and they were telling me different stories about the bundles. 1 shop told me its only 1gb microSD. Another told me that they can reduce the price but no bluetooth headset. Others totally no freebies, only the items in the box.

I did asked the guys at DigitalGadgets, they told me that at the moment there are still no screen protectors out for the Cruise yet. Same goes for the carrying case so have to stick with the bundled carrying pouch for the moment. Anyone have any idea if other areas might sell the screen protector and carrying case?

Been using it for nearly 1 day now, battery life seems good. I had a lot of SMSs and a few phone calls yesterday with bluetooth on for file transfers and WiFi at home. Bought it at round noon and the battery was charged. Before I turned in for the night at round 3am, I still had bout 60% battery left.

I dont really felt any lagging in terms of the navigation between windows. Wasnt as bad as I expected it to be; Very smooth so far. Apart from being a fingerprint magnet, I have no gripes with it at the moment and hopefully none in the future as well.

I'm not sure as well....tried turning off the options under Settings->Personal->Input->word completion. I still got the word suggestions though. I kinda gotten used to the word suggestions. You can select some of the words that you may have used previously. My msgs goes out a lot faster now that the device has a history of my own "words". Just select the words by moving the selection cursor on the words to the left or right. Faster than typing out the complete word.

So far so good. Not a hint of any wear and tear on my cruise. Been using the phone and SMS functions a lot yesterday. I have to admit that the reception is good with good clearity coming out of the ear piece. As for the pda function, i was using the mobile site for youtube. Cant seen to get any video to stream though. Kept getting no connection even though i'm hooked on via Wifi. I installed some of the softwares that i'll be using for work. Took me a while to find out how to install the software cause I was used to the Palm way of doing things. Had to fiddle with it a while to find out that I had to reboot my device to complete the installation.
Navigation between installed databases were smooth with little to no lag. I'm using LexiComp btw. Gonna try Skyscape softwares when I have the time.

I installed Mapking R12 onto my device yesterday. A bit space intensive so i removed it
The ID u can get installing the software and the map u want to use. Then just load Mapking and switch to the map u wanna use. I think the default is HK demo. Once you got the map loaded then u should be able to see the ID with a "Register and "Trial" button on the right. Hope it helps.

True that the software maybe installed into the microSD card. Prob is that i got another software that will eat up 1.5gb of space

Btw, I have to add...the sound system on this device is quite good. Much much better than the sound from my samsung d600. Coupled with the bundled earphones and with the audio booster software in the device, the sound and the details from Dashboard Confessinals comes out bassy, crisp and with enough oomph...and I dont even need to max out the volume.

I guess the best bet is to use teh bundled software first. Its there for a reason though. After using it and finding out that you dont like it then only you go ahead to install your own 3rd party softwares.

In that note, I just want to ask, anyone can give some suggestion on how do I play 3gp files on the cruise?

Use File Explorer to find the picture you want to use as background. Then select it, under menu you'll get an option to set it as Today background. Once you select it you'll be given the opportunity to select it's transparency and also the area of the image you wanna use. Hope it helps.

Just an update on the performance of the Cruise. Been using it for work since I came back from the new year holidays. The battery life is superb, using it for on and off referencing during work; plus a bit of games (Worms Armageddon ) and phone, the battery can last me 2days+. Synching the device is easy especially on Vista.

Dying for a leather carrying case...not digging the bundled case. Kinda jatuhkan my "Saham Kelelakian" if you know what I mean
