In an interview with UDN, Hsiao opened up for the first time about the difficulties she has faced in her relationship with Liang. Despite his infidelities, having affairs with two women, Hsiao chose to overlook them, having grown up in an environment where her father's own affair was accepted by her mother.
Although they live under the same roof, Hsiao and Liang have been distant for the past four years. During their arguments, Hsiao has suggested divorce, but Liang has repeatedly refused.
Hsiao describes her husband as immature and impulsive, yet she also acknowledges certain qualities in him that have moved her. For example, when Hsiao fell ill, especially in 2020 when she was diagnosed with duodenal cancer, Liang's care and tenderness were evident.
"The nurses at the time all said I was fortunate to have such a husband," she recalled.
At the time, Hsiao lost 10 kg following the surgery and spent two days in the intensive care unit (ICU), followed by 20 days recovering in the hospital, as reported by AsiaOne.
Hsiao shared that she has already prepared a will, in which she has decided to leave two-thirds of her property to her mother, one-third to her father, and nothing to Liang.
While her husband is aware of her decision, he holds no resentment.
The couple is financially stable, with Hsiao's savings and rental income supplementing their income from a beauty business they now run together.
Hsiao married Liang in November 2017 after discovering she was pregnant. However, she suffered a miscarriage at four months, followed by four more, preventing her dream of motherhood from becoming a reality.
Liang, who was previously married with children from his first wife, faced opposition from his parents regarding his marriage to Hsiao, due to her age and past legal issues. At the time, he moved into Hsiao's home, even spending the Lunar New Year there. Over time, his parents grew to accept her, and after five years, they finally embraced their daughter-in-law.
Hsiao began her acting career at 23, gaining recognition in films such as "Sword Stained with Royal Blood," "Mulan on the Run," and "Holding Hands Towards Tomorrow." In addition to acting, she also released several music videos.
However, her career suffered a setback due to a drug addiction. In May 2011, she was sentenced to one year and seven months in prison for drug use, but was released in July 2012 after demonstrating good behavior.
