I used to work in MetMalaysia for 10 years
and I personally know the Timbalan Pengarah, which is a Sarawakian.
He was just a senior forecaster back then and he always got like 98% prediction right

usually occurs in the morning.

forecast always update during METAR/SYNOP hours which is 0000, 0300, 0600 UTC and so on.
You just too lazy to read the website, this is not COVID where the KP is on TV every 5PM to announce something
When I was there, I read the forecast every 9am to the local radio station,
now RTM show live at 9am from our main forecast office of the latest update
Why 9am? Because we update on 0000UTC (8am)

Let me tell you something you shithead does not know
You think we forecast based on those thermometers on the ground issit?

First, we use weather balloon to track UPPER AIR data.
we launch those balloons WORLDWIDE at 0000 and 1200 UTC which is 8am and 8pm our time.
Those weather balloons costs RM800 per launch including the radiosonde.

In order to read the regional weather, UPPER AIR data is needed
to collect wind speed, direction, temperature and pressure.
The RAW DATA transmitted to the receiver on the ground
so PEOPLE LIKE ME can transcribe and make a report to be sent to WMO
SO every forecaster in the world can use the data to predict the weather.

If you want fast update, you need to understand the whole world updates their DATA every 12 hours
UNLESS they have more advance technology like LIDAR or tracking planes and shit,
which we don't have and we don't need.
OUR FUCKING WEATHER IS CONSTANT every day.

So it is acceptable for the KP of MEtMAlaysia to update carefully every 12 hours or so,
if he finds that the tropical thunderstorm is legitimate or not.
Now we know, the SENYAR is died down. WHICH IS THE CORRECT PREDICTION

TROPICAL CYCLONE/HURRICANE/TYPHOON rarely or never crosses the equator
which where we live.
