High demand of course they increase the price lah. Supply and demand in action.
Anyway, I think it's harder to make a good pickle court than a good badminton court. Badminton court has no bouncing balls, whereas pickle does. A bad surface is completely unplayable for pickleball due to bad bounce. Also, even though both pickle and badminton courts have the same dimensions, pickle court requires more runoff area.
IMO it's harder and more expensive to maintain a pickle court than a badminton court. Not to mention, most pickle courts are outdoor, completely exposed to sun and rain, which affects income and increases cost.
Why is pickleball (court + paddle) so expensive?
