QUOTE(smsid @ Nov 26 2025, 07:09 PM) Atuk is Sinki's favorite guy, the perfect boogeyman to make sure people always vote for the same political party. But now atuk is too old, must find a new boogeyman, probably PuAS is an ideal replacement. Just politics 101. they were very smart by making him the bogeyman haha easy win in every election

QUOTE(Ewww! @ Nov 27 2025, 06:23 AM) In your dreams, yes. In real life, no. I feel this is the repeat of the Yingluck case with her "uncle" cambodian PM in the end kenna audio leak by her "uncle"? ASEAN behind the scene is want to support Japan to balance China, so Singapore as incoming ASEAN chair he thought got the support of all ASEAN leaders, end up both thrown under the bus? aiyah, both is just too young, don't know how cunning their elders are. At some point, even CCP will move on from ww2. 80 years have past since ww2 end. That's at least 3 generations of new borns.
Those born without experience of war will find it difficult to appreciate the whole atrocities of war, even if taught so.
We are lucky that in Japan, 3 generations have also been born in a pacifist culture.
However, as experience and history shows in Japan, once they embrace anything, Japanese will put full effort into it. So if Japan embraces militarism, it would be naive that they would stop where pacifists (esp those who grew up in peace) would want them to stop. Japanese who grew up in peace won't also appreciate the full atrocities of war esp when their own history books don't teach it.
Can't control others but ASEAN can control its own capabilities. In that Sinkieland is not naive in its defence expenditure nor its economic prowess to back that expenditure.

QUOTE “And so Singapore and all the South-east Asian countries support Japan playing a bigger role in our region, including on the security front, because we think that provides for some stability in the region.” Well, if Lawrence sukak sangat, he can always invite jepunis to open up a base in sinjiapor Fun fact, next Asean chair after the Philippines is Singapore.

from a military standpoint , sing uses the US jets that can be made useless during critical times. jap is the US's ally .sing has no choice but to support jap. when sing uses the US 's jets ,it already picks side.

QUOTE(callmecool @ Nov 26 2025, 12:44 PM) and Ho Ching must have forgotten what the Japanese soldiers did to her great/grand parents back then that he loves Japan so much. my own grandparents lived through our occupation, then travelled to Japan and made friends with Japanese in the decades after the Japanese now are not the Japanese back then but the Communists now are still the Communists back then since when has Beijing apologised for eliminating our culture and replacing it with a pair of fucked-up German students' stupid fantasy?
