Vios hybrid 105K, Yaris Cross hybrid 115K. Throw in rebates 7-8K. It will sell definitely. Mind you, Toyota hybrid mostly come with a tiny 36 liter tank and it goes close to 650-700km. Competitor mostly use a much larger tank like 60 liter or more and claimed 1K km. UMW under Sime has more rebate than ever. Even the new Cross hybrid is only 130K after rebate.

You can refer SourLemons how cheebye the yoyodah quality. Now they starting becuming ccp quality.. at least this J7 is bigger car.

Perodua version is Nexis, which is ICE.

Toyota Yaris cross is pure hybrid.

Perodua and Toyota screwed up on these 2models. They are 4 years too late to launch these models. Those who were interested (and that includes me) could not wait any further and went for other car models.

I believe Nexis will be DOA with ICE. At least Toyota Yaris cross is still attractive for hybrids.

I can be wrong, though.

perodua did have limited run on their hybrid ativa previously, meaning there is possibility that they might bring hybrid model later in the future. its either they need to offer turbo or hybrid model for their more expensive model, conventional NA should stay at budget model only.

also why the heck toyota umw dont want to release their yaris cross? they outsource manufacturing to perodua on this since it is daihatsu platform?

Both are DNGA and shares platform as Ativa and vios. There were rumours that they could not launch due to the NCAP-gate whilst there is another rumours that they are trying to clear all outstanding orders for veloz and Alza. Still, it is an opportunity lost, I think. Too late too slow!

Toyota does not have a good EV. They have a proven hybrid system since Prius for a long time. That’s why next year, all new launches for Toyota are hybrids from Vios to hilux and alphard and etc. their strategy is to focus on hybrids.
