Sungai Petani Volunteer Fire Brigade volunteer Leong Beng Tat said his team have received numerous emergency messages, several of which have been verified as false, reports NST.

Leong said some claims of being in critical condition and requiring immediate help have been disproved during ground checks.
“False information like this is dangerous. It disrupts planning, wastes time and energy, and delays aid for those who are truly in need,” he noted.

Leong urged those truly in need to provide accurate details so rescuers can reach the correct locations.
The volunteer added that water levels in southern Thailand have remained high and operations have continued based on actual risk levels.
