Id been living on my house almost 11 years with no renovation or ID whatsoever. With 4 kids, we started to feel the house not fully functional and not all area in the house was utilized optimally.

Our house is bungalow type with 2400 sq buildup and 9000++ land area.

After shopping around with ID, we choose this one that seem to stand out from the rest.

I got quoted about RM 10.30 persqft for the buildup part and RM1.20 persqft for the outside part of the house.

The service include:

1. 2D space planning
2. 2D key drawing
3. 3D perspective rendering

Any thought whether the price is reasonable? Their previous works are very detailed - From type of tile, paint, lighting, furniture arrangement, demolition work etc. They also have great review - 290 google review with 4.9 rating

for roughly about RM 33K only for the designer's fee (interior and exterior) should be okay if and only if they could provide you a very detail scope of works. Rate persqft is average rate market. This not including building plan submission correct? if include with local authority submission should be okay.. if without, they must come up with full scope of detail drawings not just space planning.
example
1) toilet detail with tiling setting out plan
2) built in furniture detail -working drawings
3) schedule of finishes / ironmongeries / bathroom accessories
4) Reflection ceiling plan (RCP) with setting out lighting points and leveling point
5) Site management / monitoring
6) BQ for the ID scope of works.. (because without these- some built in contractor just like to short cut things specially on the material selection and the construction method)
7) Etc
8) and how many times they allow on the changes of design -how many proposal they allow for client to amend.

best of luck on your renovation....

cheers mate

Thank you for taking your time replying to me. Really appreciate it.

Correct this not include building plan submission. As far as I understand from our meeting with them, their ID services is very detailed as per your number 1-4. They even asked if I want a coffee machine, my current tv size and what gym equipment I want to put inside the gym area. They also provide 1 stop solution meaning can do A to Z with them. Usually the ID part is taking 10% of the total budget for renovation. Meaning I can estimate i may need ~ 300k for full renovation + ID. So if I already have a blueprint on what to do, I can plan to do part by part if budget constraints.

Don’t forget full house Reno like that ID works will take cost of 30-40% of total Renovation works
Example your Reno is 300k …(without ID fee) 30-40 percent is ID works ..120k (40%) balance is your wet works 180k … ( don’t know is sufficient or not for your wet works - concreting , brick and plastering works etc)

The ID work will not be 30-40%. It is ridiculous. I think 10% is fair price.

If based on full scope of works ya .full Reno
Oh don’t be confuse with purely on cabinet works only ya ..

It’s based on their full scope of works given to client .. related to their fees imposed ..
Tiling/flooring
Carpentry
Ceiling
Special lighting
Soft finishing
Even up to loose furniture
Art pieces
Feature wall pieces
Etc

Builders works - it’s purely on architecture .. the exterior and interior basic finishing
Whatever inside will be take over by ID scope .. but sometime they will park under builders work as well …
