Hello, any recommendations for outdoor cctv ? I'm looking at the Xiaomi CW 500 @ 190+, which seems really solid, anyone have experience using it ? Appreciate other recommendations too, budget around 200, must be meant for outdoor and can view different angles

Whatever you get, I advise to get something that can save to an cloud or NAS, or just mount it very high up.

There is not much point if someone can just whack it with a hockey stick and remove the SD card

I use Imilab for my outdoor. It's using same Mi ecosystsem app but supposed to be better than Mi.

So far using 5 years still working good except have to reboot it once in a while.

Or Add in a Network Video Recorder (NVR) to your setup.

Tapo under TP link is pretty affordable.
If got bajet lebih sikit, can use VIGI. Also under TP link, want to find their cameras can try Viewnet in lowyat plaza.

To be fair we have a whole setup with direct POE, so no lag when streaming CCTV view. EZviz punya interface not the best, though if you only plan on just one cam, then tapo will do.

My solution:

Tapo C410 CCTV + Tapo H500 hub

Without hub, u need to sub the cloud service, or else, the theft took/dmg the cctv then u hav no evidences captured

Too many fake MicroSD card floating around, get it from Official Store

some CCTV don't have PoE (power over lan cable), so it's using the 3 pin plug for power. needs to have socket nearby for cctv adapter

sorry don't have photo and can't find in web

if connection is stable, no problem average about 200kb/s also depends on your ISP upload speed.

main things to consider
- image clarity
- moving capture video stability
- app is easy to use
- easy to self install

I have Ezwiz before...lousy piece of junk camera. App is lousy, image clear but the stupid ptz camera cannot focus on a predetermined area. Tried resetting and all...no use.

IMOU / Dahua - once setup done, no need worry.

Then all you do need is a 3 pin power socket, no other cablings required since it's wifi.

Just a PSA, Imou is no longer owned by Dahua, Dahua sold the entire company already

I did notice the app quite slow to load especially when viewing from Maxis 4G/5G these days

Just get Dahua or Hikvision if you have more than 2 cameras...

Long run, you need to replace SD card as it won't last. Plus, Tapo cams mostly rely on WIFI. If there's no WiFi, no recording unless you have an SD card. Also maybe prone to getting hacked?

Also, you can get cloud storage. But is it worth paying a subscription every month and giving them your footage?

The HomeBase is an extra purchase (not including HDD).. But not sure if you still need to get SD cards.
