hearsay if u book now have to wait until Aug 2026 baru can deliver, first few batches apparently was CBU unit from China. I thought Proton has already commence CKD at their Tanjong Malim plant

Emas 7 CKD supposed to start first followed by emas 5. Don't think the CKD will come anytime soon, maybe after mid-2026 only. My colleague booked emas 5 earlier this month and was told that the waiting time is 5 months.

Plus adjustable head rest for the rear seats. Telescopic steering missing is still okay if you are an average height Malaysian size.

Read that emas 5 secured 14,000 bookings. Once Proton delivers it all in 2026 it is already the best selling EV in MY.

Received my eMas 5 31st January, made my appointment with charger installers as soon as I could, installation date March 10th, loved the car but really more than 1 month lag time for charger to be installed? There must be a mechanism in place to book appointments with installers before delivery of car

Yea agreed with you, they should arrage the appointment with the charger installer earlier, so that the charger can be install before delivery of the car, more convenient to the customer

Get outside wireman to install. Just show them the ST single line drawing. It contain all the specs required. Cost a lot less than rm1k.
If you're worried about warranty, new charger are around rm350-500 and can get 10m long cable. If salesman scare you about SIRIM and shit, their charger also no SIRIM whistling.gif
If they scare you about support and shit, ask them what's the lead time for repairs? Some I heard kena sidai for weeks.

For kampung use, get wireman to install 32A CEE Socket, still refer back ST Spec. Back to back should be around rm400 like that. You can plug your portable charger and charge at 7kW in middle of jungle. (in my case have to limit to 20A as the voltage sag too much till less than 200V left) This is how I live with EV in Sarawak, otherwise balik kampung trip is not possible.

Great idea especially if warranty not a consideration and it's only for 2 years if I'm not mistaken
Also Proton appointed installer that i selected is more expensive, neighbour bought an Audi, installation for 3 phase charger less than mine for single phase

I have charging points at 4 locations. Car porch, House Gate, Work, and last at kampung. Altogether still cheaper than single Proton's install fee. Really easy money.

It really is no big deal if you know what you are dealing with... 6mm cable to dbbox via a 30ma/40a rcbo, with an isolator. You may just set up a commando socket at each site then your charger will be semi-portable of sort.
7kw type 2 charger is more than enough

Thats correct, 3 of those are just commando (CEE 32A) Wall Socket. I have been urging people to do it this way instead of paying near rm2k for subpar ugly surface elementary electrical hack job. Worse offence is doubling up 6mm wire into main incoming MCB share with 16mm wire. How a lot of installers think this is OK scares me a lot.
