QUOTE(MilesAndMore @ Mar 9 2017, 08:55 PM) That is some serious inconsistency on HSBC part. All those I personally know who holds the HSBC Premier World MasterCard received the card automatically without the need to pledge any TD or show any proof of income. You can see many such uncles at HSBC Kota Kinabalu Premier Centre but of course these uncles are no ordinary Tom Dick or Harry. i thought the same too, the card came automatically with the premiere account, but not the case. Long long ago when first become premiere when i was still working i rejected the card simply too many cards at that time. Now after retire, knowing that card come with free lounge usage I would like to apply for the card, but ask to show income tax pulak, retiree don't have much tax to pay lah so not qualify. Yup don't look down on uncle with shorts and slipper, they can surprise you.

QUOTE(tonytyk @ Mar 10 2017, 07:39 PM) Understood, if the card is mainly for accessing the lounge, then there are many alternatives. Unless there are other benefits ? unsure what type of benefit you looking at, mainly it's for travel ... the card offer complimentary rm80 uber ride if you purchase airline ticket using their card, 10% off expedia and 7% off agoda booking, complimentary boingo worldwide wifi access (not sure how popular is this)

QUOTE(chrisoth80 @ Mar 11 2017, 12:44 AM) a bit ot here. you should consider maybank 2 cards premier if you are frequent traveler and your main focus is for travelling because you can fast track your points collection and convert to miles for business class ticket and also access to lounge + complimentary travel insurance if you charge your card for travel fare. You just need to spend min 80k per annum to waive the annual fee am not a big fan of paying annual fee. actually similar benefit also available to hsbc new premier travel card, only need to spend 45k annually to waive the fee. complimentary access to worldwide 750 lounges, complementary 750k travel coverage , 1.1 miles for every rm1 overseas spend ..

QUOTE(terrysoh @ Dec 1 2018, 04:21 PM) Hi, this month I also become a new CIMB Preferred too, and they gave me the Visa Infinite pre-approved, no documents, no question asked. Basically I went in as a normal customer to put in their promo 4.4% for 6 months for a good amount of money, and they upgraded me straight + Visa Infinite. Just got an SMS that the card got approved, and i did not submit any documents for it. so good, i still need to apply separately

QUOTE(spiderwick @ Feb 1 2019, 11:07 AM) recently went to maybank and was informed that i need to maintain 250k at least a month to be entitled for PB...but it's not through application, they will offer u if you're eligible..is it the case? im actually eyeing on free parking in maybank only lol...coz everytime i want to go maybank damn hard to find parking haha... by the way for cimb, is it 250k as well? are there better banks to go for PB rather than these two? TQVM for your advices hehe the free parking at where? if with those 2 reserved parking slots in front of the bank, you would have no chance to park, most of the time occupied. I would prefer those with free parking at multi storeys car parks. This post has been edited by apathen: Feb 11 2019, 01:50 AM

QUOTE(hksgmy @ Apr 21 2020, 10:41 AM) Hello guys. Do you by any chance have the equivalent information about Maybank and cross-recognition? I have a private banking/premier wealth banking account with Maybank Sg, and I have a nominal amount in very old "normal" Maybank account in My (which was from my SMK days in Malaysia some 40 years ago). The Maybank account in Malaysia was converted into an Islamic banking account (which pays no interest) from the previous current account. I've asked on the side of Singapore, who referred me onto their Malaysian counterpart dealing with off-shore banking. This was just before COVID19 struck. Since then, everyone's been working at home, and the Malaysian lady hasn't been able to help clarify my queries. Essentially, I only have about RM250,000 in the Malaysian account, and that doesn't automatically qualify for premier status. If they have cross-recognition with Maybank SG, then qualifying for premier status wouldn't be an issue. Otherwise, I'll have to convert some SGD into RM. Thanks in advance! maybank no cross-recognition

QUOTE(hksgmy @ Apr 28 2020, 11:23 PM) I get slightly better interest rates (usually between 0.25 to 0.5% more) than their promotional rates, and I get free use of various lounges at different locations. Also free limousine to airport and use of airport lounge but since we usually travel business class and above, the benefits are never utilised. Tq for the info. Here we don't have free use of limo and airport lounge.
